Hello!

I didn't see a thread for the SMU absn Spring 2021 cohort so I just wanted to start one!

I'm currently in the process of applying right now and working on my personal statements!

Hope you are all staying safe during this crazy time!

I feel like they should extend the December 1st deadline since there is so much uncertainty and not much communication. It would definitely relieve some stress.

They should do that. But then again they should have gotten us decisions in the middle of October. They should have gotten us decisions when people started receiving them in the middle of last week. It’s incredibly hard to have understanding for whatever issues they may be having (under staffed or otherwise) when there is no communication.

I definitely agree with this!! Even if they just extended it by a month, it'd be so grateful. It also doesn't look good to ask for LOR's 3 weeks before they are due... ?  Can someone ask if they can extend the deadline? I can e-mail them too. I feel if more people ask, they will consider it!

I know a few people have called admissions and gotten responses! Can someone post the number they called? I can't find it anywhere online!

1-800-607-6377. That’s the phone number from the website. It may be good to call to ask when decisions are coming, but then email to ask for the extension.

If their stance is that they have the decisions but are notifying people in waves, how come our portals have not updated and still say under review? Things just don’t add up? if anyone has any insight plz share

I’m not sure either....the BSN already got their decisions through... and that they said today their portal was updated (but no emails yet). 
And then some ppl for Spring ABSN got accepted ? Yet ours isn’t updating...

I got my acceptance notification through the email I provided from the NursingCAS. I hope this helps.
