I didn't see a thread for the Samuel Merritt University ABSN Spring 2014, and decided to get one going. Not much to talk about now, applications are in, just wanted to if anyone heard back yet from the school or when we can expect to hear from them. Good Luck everyone!
@mrkim you should! so far the application process and the staff are very helpful and friendly and got out their decisions when they said they would. Just a warning my cousin who is currently completing the ABSN program at SMU said that the staff at SMU can be very disorganized and all over the place-making it difficult to get things done. One factor that went into my decision.
Hi Folks. I was accepted into the program but have not yet started patho or pharm because none of my other schools required those classes and I didn't want to risk losing money when I was applying to many other places. Has anyone found online schools that start up those classes in october? Thanks!
Thanks @MsMarie! I got into an ABSN program at Massachusetts General Hospital Institute in Boston, which i think fits me better. Don't lose hope on the wait list one of my friends got into Duke ABSN after being waitlisted first.
congratulations on getting accepted into SMU and MGH!
I had a question about your friend and Duke ABSN. I got waitlisted for the Duke ABSN program as well; did your friend call/email them when he/she got waitlisted or did he/she just wait it out until Duke got back to your friend? Everyone's been telling me to call or email but I'm not sure if that would really do anything for me at this point..

Thank you!
I think she just waited it out and i remember it took a little while for them to get back to her since they had to wait till the accepted students accepted/declined. She was also very nervous since that was the only school that she applied to (this was a year ago) But she loves it there and thinks its a great program. If it were me I would just wait it out a little bit longer since Im sure they have a lot of students they are waiting to hear back from before notifying people on the waitlist. Good Luck!

Thanks so much for getting back to me! This gives me hope!
@dyumul07 I received a PM from you but for some reason the forum won't let me write back to you but I wanted to send:
noo I haven't heard anything; don't freak out! lol I don't think I posted anything on the forum that even suggested that I heard good news from them, just that I was told we would hear by October 1. But hopefully we'll hear soon!
I know you can do the pharmacology with University of Phoenix online and it is approved by Samuel Merritt. I think the course is a 4-5 weeks long and starts almost every month. Patho? not sure, South University starts in October and perhaps they might offer the course online... not sure though. if you live near a campus you can always take the ground course with them....

I emailed the counselor and she said October 1st. Almost there! I hope I get in. I feel as if my 76.7% teas score might hold me back
