Hi everyone! I'm starting this discussion for those who applied for SMU ABSN program for the Fall 2024 cohort! I was curious if anyone has received updates/email yet. I personally applied to the Sacramento program. Good luck everyone! I

It is quite competitive and it is basically all off of your resume and letter of recommendations. What unit you're hired for is dependent on where you do your senior preceptorship essentially. Everyone I've known that got into it already worked at UCD as a student extern. Also we are going through a hiring freeze at the moment because union contracts are up🙃 so hopefully next year when we're getting ready to apply all of that is settled.
Oh goodness... always something:) We need to stay in contact so we can help each other after graduation. I know a few people who work in the ER in hospitals in Stockton and Oakland. I will hit them up for info as well.

also curious, has anyone else received any other communications from SMU. I'm still waiting on admissions review to get back to me in regard to the email they sent last week.
ARigdon209 said:I only received an email about SM receiving my app. What did they ask you about last week?
they asked when I was planning to finish my pre reqs and when they were going to get the transcripts becuase I put down pre reqs as in progress but didn't have anything sent over to them. but I didn't know we were supposed to send over anything so I just gave them the timeline of completion and then I was able to get a proof of enrollment doc from the program I am taking my pre reqs through and sent those over this morning so they have gotten about 3 emails from me in response, and I am just waiting to hear back any time now. they said it can take 4-6 business day to reply but gave me a strict deadline that they wanted me to answer the email by today at 5pm latest so im hoping they send me something today and can complete the preliminary review so I can stop stressing LOL

I wonder why, because I have two in progress classes and I only said they were in progress and they were able to complete my preliminary review without asking me anything. That's strange
ARigdon209 said:Hello All,
I was wondering what you all think about SM not having preceptorships and the impact that may have on getting a job after graduation?
I had heard something from an advisor about potentially having a preceptorship based on which campus you attend. The advisor wasn't super clear on it. It was during a zoom Q&A
I had to talk to an advisor because I accidentally clicked that I live in a European country on my application. My hand must have slipped while I was doing my application or I was anxious LOL but the advisors got back to me super quick and were able to fix it! Just incase anyone was worried about simple mistakes like that!
