Hello all! I am new to Allnurses and I recently decided to change my academic career path from biomedical engineering to nursing. I am (hopefully) going to graduate from San Jose State University in May 2017. I was wondering if anyone has applied/ got accepted to Samuel Merritt's Accelerated BSN program? I was wondering if it's a hard school to get into? I am hoping to apply for Fall 2017. My engineering GPA is not that great but I already took the TEAS and did pretty well on that; I also need to complete Micro, A&P, Nutrition, and a couple other nursing pre-reqs.
It said something like, I see you started your application for the Fall 2017 ABSN cohort. Here is some updated information regarding our ability to provide the program in Sac this fall and approval for the program in Sacramento. I received the email on March 29. It seems like time is going soooo slowly.
Hi All,
I just completed 3 prerequisites that were listed as in-progress at the time my application was submitted in March. Does anyone know if it's best to submit those updates through NursingCAS or send a transcript directly to SMU? If applications are still under review, I am hoping to get this update in!

I finished one pre-req, and I just sent it directly to NursingCAS. The school website says "All transcripts and letters of recommendation required to review your file should be submitted with the application to the program-specific CAS. No materials should be sent to SMU until you have been admitted to a program or information has been requested."
@sunvisor Thanks! I emailed Derric also and just heard back, he told me I could send the transcript directly to the San Mateo SMU location so hopefully that's correct. We are so close to admission decisions I am not sure it would be received and processed by NursingCAS that fast anyways.

@shelgym Thank you for the update! Who was the email from? I'm wondering why I didn't receive it also. The days waiting seem to be going so slow. It's almost June though, hoping we all hear good news soon!
