Hello all! I am new to Allnurses and I recently decided to change my academic career path from biomedical engineering to nursing. I am (hopefully) going to graduate from San Jose State University in May 2017. I was wondering if anyone has applied/ got accepted to Samuel Merritt's accelerated BSN program? I was wondering if it's a hard school to get into? I am hoping to apply for Fall 2017. My engineering GPA is not that great but I already took the TEAS and did pretty well on that; I also need to complete Micro, A&P, Nutrition, and a couple other nursing pre-reqs.

Yes, it's hard to get in, so make sure you get a 4.0 on those pre-reqs, since your undergrad GPA is not so great. My GPA was not great either, but I did ace all the pre-reqs and scored a 92 on the TEAS. I also had volunteer experience. I was admitted last year, but ultimately chose a less expensive program.

Hi Layla99,
I am applying for fall as well. Just wondering if you got your application in and which campus you are applying to.

Hello! I just recently applied to Samuel Merritt for the fall 2017 ABSN program at Sacramento! I couldn't find any other threads for this post so I figured I should reply. Has anyone else applied?

Have any of you received a confirmation email from Samuel Merritt that they received your application?
I've seen a few threads on here that say they have sent such emails in the past.

Hi everyone!
I have also applied for Fall 2017. @runner117 I have only received confirmation from NursingCAS, but nothing from Samuel Merritt yet. Is that the same for you?
@runner117 I received an email yesterday from SMU confirming they received my application. Have all your transcripts and references been verified and completed?
Yes, I got an email that everything was verified last week.
@itstess How long ago did you submit your app?
@runner117 I submitted it on April 1st
Great to hear from others! @runner117 I haven't received a confirmation email from SMU either but I also did just get confirmation that everything has been processed and verified on NursingCAS. Maybe it'll take a couple of days.
Best of luck to everyone!
Is anyone else still waiting for a confirmation email from SMU?
