Hello all! I am new to Allnurses and I recently decided to change my academic career path from biomedical engineering to nursing. I am (hopefully) going to graduate from San Jose State University in May 2017. I was wondering if anyone has applied/ got accepted to Samuel Merritt's Accelerated BSN program? I was wondering if it's a hard school to get into? I am hoping to apply for Fall 2017. My engineering GPA is not that great but I already took the TEAS and did pretty well on that; I also need to complete Micro, A&P, Nutrition, and a couple other nursing pre-reqs.
Hello all - I applied to San Mateo and received a confirmation email on Mar 27 saying they received my application from NursingCAS. I checked the thread from Fall 2016 and it looks like people received decisions around the first week of June. I hope we hear soon, as I'll be applying for Spring 2018 (July 1 deadline) if I don't get in on the first try!
I started my 2017 fall application on NursingCAS in January but later realized I wasn't going to be able to make the April deadline. Luckily for me, I got an email saying SMU extended the deadline to May 1, so I'm planning on submitting my application very soon! Did you guys have all your references completed prior to April 1? They told me transcripts and references didn't have to be completed by the application deadline.
Hello everyone!
I applied to the Fall 2017 ABSN program at SMU as well. I put Sacramento as my primary campus choice, but I'm wondering of the likelihood of there being a fall Sacramento cohort. The email from the dean sounded hopeful that it would happen, but I'd like to know for sure. Does anyone have any more information? Also, what other programs did everyone apply to?
Best of Luck!

SMU is the only program I'm applying to because of the length of program and proximity from my home, so I don't have to worry about rent. I'm interested in hearing where else you applied though!
@sunvisor,
That's so convenient SMU is close to your home. I'm applying to University of Colorado, MidAmerica Nazarene University, and possibly Regis Univeristy. SMU is my number one choice, but unfortunately the most expensive. We'll see how everything goes though. I need to be accepted first!

@ktdish & @runner117 I am waiting as well. I submitted my application on April 1. I called admissions early last week & they told me they don't send confirmation emails. But on previous threads I've read, it looks like they do.
