Samuel Merritt University ABSN Fall 2017

Published

Hello all! I am new to Allnurses and I recently decided to change my academic career path from biomedical engineering to nursing. I am (hopefully) going to graduate from San Jose State University in May 2017. I was wondering if anyone has applied/ got accepted to Samuel Merritt's Accelerated BSN program? I was wondering if it's a hard school to get into? I am hoping to apply for Fall 2017. My engineering GPA is not that great but I already took the TEAS and did pretty well on that; I also need to complete Micro, A&P, Nutrition, and a couple other nursing pre-reqs.

Goodluck guys. I hope we hear soon from the San Mateo cohort. My second option is Sacramento. I'm with with either location though. The waiting period is the hardest part though, I agree with that. I wake up every morning hoping to get that 8am acceptance email that everyone talks about. í ½í¸„í ½í¸…

My first choice is San Mateo as well, although I would be so thankful to be in either cohort. I will be sure to update you both if I hear anything! I hope we will all be in the San Mateo cohort together. Manifesting a positive result for all of us :)

Did everyone who already received an acceptance list San Mateo as their first choice?

Still haven't heard anything. Hopefully you guys get an insight into what's going on when you meet with Derric.

I got in for the Sac fall 2017! Just received an email sent at 8:01 am!

Oh wow!! Congratulations . Also, was Sac your first choice?

Thank you! Yes, Sacramento was my first choice.

I received an acceptance e-mail this morning too for Sac! @cc598 congrats to you as well! In the e-mail it said for fall 2017 so I'm assuming that we'll be starting in November?

Congrats to you too! :) And it should be September! It does say for "(Sep)Sacramento" and the September start date is what I thought I applied for... :nailbiting:

You're right, I just saw that on my e-mail and they did say September in previous e-mails. I guess I just thought that San Mateo and Sac start date were the same. The University never updated us as to whether or not we will start in the fall or spring, so I'm not sure.

I got into the Sacramento program too!! It says starting in September, and the admissions website now has Sacramento listed under the Spring and Fall cohorts again, so I am guessing the Fall cohort got approved for this year. Congrats to everyone else who got in also!
