Hello everyone. I hope the semester is going well for all of you taking summer classes.
I decided to make this thread for those of us applying to SMU for the upcoming Spring 2011 BSN admission cycle. Who else is applying and wants to join me in the waiting game?
Omg, I got in!! I am so excited but so scared that I won't be able to financially figure it out. Everyone check their email, that is how I found out...I kept looking in the mailbox waiting for an acceptance letter but an email is just fine with me. Good luck everyone and keep me posted!!

I got in too!!!! Yay!!! I'm so excited to meet you and CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
Hey everyone, I just got into the BSN program as well and now I am trying to make sure it is the right decision for me.
Are any of you commuting there? If so where are you coming from?
I live in sacramento and people are telling me that I will have to move... and I really don't want to...:grn:
That's a pretty long drive. I know someone who lives close to Oakland and drives to Sac for their job, so it's doable....but clinicals might be a challenge as they can often be at odd hours (you might have some choice but from what I hear it's not too flexible). Plus you'll want as much study time as possible and taking all that commute time is both exhausting and well...time consuming. Hopefully you can go to SMU, I just wanted to give you some unbiased advice!
Dear Bayz10-
First off COngrats on getting in! Second, I agree with sorificett on the whole clinical thing you could have either 7-3:30pm or 2:30-11:00pm for clinicals on thursdays or fridays. I know a guy who commutes from my school but he stays with friends in Oakland when he has a night class and a class the next day. Also, you may want to try it for one semester and if it is too much see if you can transfer to another nursing program near sac. I heard that it is easier to transfer to another program once your IN nursing school. Good luck and again congrats! whatever u decide we are hear to support u!

Don't stress you have a good chance. Like I said before a lot of people from my school can't get the minimum scores to pass the TEAS (after taking it twice). Also, my school requires B-'s is all the science courses so if people get C+'s they have to retake classes. I transferred to my school from a JC and so that's why I am a spring transfer. Don't worry you will get in you have good grades and a great TEAS score.
Good Luck and don't worry!
