Samuel Merritt Spring 2021 BSN

Hello everyone!

I just wanted to start a thread for the Spring 2021 term at SMU. Has anyone applied or planning on applying? Feel free to drop your stats and scores!

I would also confirm it with Samuel Merritt just in case. Cause you are taking two science classes, and they might want to see your grades to make their decision. But I would definitely move history to the fall. I’m actually taking history in the fall myself

Totally agree with what Phoebe just said! When I emailed ----------------------- about my academic plan, she said that it wasn't uncommon for students to have 3-4 courses in progress and we are allowed to complete them in Summer/fall 2020.

They usually want you to finish all 3 sciences (Anatomy, Physio, Micro) by the time you apply though. She said not having all of them completed puts us at a disadvantage so our other science classes must have strong grades. But in the end, it all depends on how competitive the application pool is!

I'm a bit nervous because I have micro in progress, but just hoping for the best! Good luck! ?

Hi, My application has been verified/received by SMU! Will be taking a few more classes this Summer.

  • BA in Cultural Anthropology (2006)
  • 300 Hour Yoga Teacher Certification
  • Science GPA: 4.0, (Pending) Pre-Requisite GPA: 3.8+

I have a lot of non-medical work experience/leadership.

When did you submit your application? I submitted my application on June 2nd but I didn't hear anything yet.

Did they send you an email that they received your application?
Were your transcripts verified by n cas ?

I only got notification from N cas that my application is received, but I didn't hear anything from Samuel Merritt yet. when I check status it shows verified in my transcript. Do I need to contact school?

I would not contact SMU yet, just keep an eye on NursingCAS for the status. The email I received from SMU was a day later than NCAS verification. It was an auto-generated notice. Good luck to all!

Hey guys,

I'm really stuck in a hard place right now and would appreciate any and all feedback.

My community college is giving me hard time about being enrolled in Physio and Micro for Summer. I am desperately trying to find a school that has open seats for Micro, however it's nearly impossible, as you can imagine.

I've been looking at schools that have the extension program, but I'm finding that a little difficult, as there are open seats for lecture and none with open seats for lab.

I just applied for another community college, where there is only one other person on the waitlist for Micro, however I still have to submit my transcripts showing I have taken any/all prerequisites for that course and the class begins tomorrow.

So my questions are:

Is anyone else in this situation and if so, what are you doing about it?

If you're taking an extension course for Micro, where are you taking it?

I know we have to have all sciences completed ASAP (not able to take any during the Fall), therefore does anyone know the deadline to complete the course by?

Any other recommendations is greatly appreciated.

Hi Tiffany,

I spoke to ------------------, as I'm having an extremely difficult time getting into a Micro class. She stated it needs to be completed in the Summer. I'm not sure what to do right now, as my current school won't allow me to take Physio and Micro during the Summer.

Hi,

Try to enroll in one micro or physio. You can have one Science class not done and do it over the fall. I don’t think they allow to have more then 1 Science course though. If you can enroll in either class, you should be good. And why isn’t your college allowing you to take micro?
