Hello everyone!

I just wanted to start a thread for the Spring 2021 term at SMU. Has anyone applied or planning on applying? Feel free to drop your stats and scores!

Those who have registered for the HESI, 

Do you register for the test through the Elsevier website, by selecting schedule distance learning exam? I've entered the ID 19485 and there's nothing available. I've contacted customer support and they couldn't find it either. Customer support suggested contacting the school, which I did, but Shawna just sent me back to the registration page.

Hi BLS2019,

I had difficulties as well. Customer service took me to examity.com to register for the test.

Once you pay for the test you go to Examity to schedule it.

To those of you who are discussing signing up and taking TEAS or HESI for acceptance, are you doing this in the case you do not get into this upcoming cohort and want it done in time to have for next application period? I did not take either exam, due to COVID and due to them removing this requirement for this application period I have not yet registered /Paid to take the exam, as I am hoping I won't have to ( assuming I get in).

OMG! Like this whole application process isn’t stressful enough!! I’m so sorry you had to go through this, it’s horrible!! 
Are you able to retake it though ? Did it count as an attempt? It would be very unfair if it was...

are there any options to take it at a testing center ? I know it’s not HESI, but I took my TEAS test at a testing center just to make sure everything goes smoothly... Things start slowly opening up, so hopefully there will be an option to take it in person

Thank you ? Unfortunately,  it counts as first attempt ?  I wanted to take it at a testing centwr before, but they canceled it due to covid. Now it's only offered remotely until test centers open again. I talked to Shawna about it before they waived ot for Spring 2021 and she told me right now they are only going to offer it remotely.

Hi Ornelarm,

Yes, I just took it in case I don't get in. The application deadline is December 1st and I wasn't sure how many dates for the test are available.  You don't have to worry about that . There are plenty ? 

I always go back and forth. Sometimes I assume I get in, but the again there are so many applicants and not sure what they bring to the table. At the end I assume everyone has competitive grades ?‍♀️ just out of curiosity could you tell me what make you think you get in? You don't have to answer it, if you don't want to ?

The ABSN cohort just started hearing back decisions a few days ago. Given that our decisions could basically come at any time, when do you guys think it will happen? I think once halloween passes I'm going to be super vigilant checking my email. I don't think they'll release it next week, but the week after is definitely promising!

You get your results right away! Especially after each subject you get your score. I checked later that day Elsevier and my report was already uploaded, which you have to upload to your application later on
