Samuel Merritt Spring 2017 ABSN

Hello! I just wanted to make a thread specifically for those who are applying to the Samuel Merritt ABSN for a spring 2017 start. I'm applying to start in April 2017. It's the only program I'm applying to, as I can't afford more than a year without an income and I really want a BSN and not an MSN at this time. I'm done with my application, just waiting for nursing CAS to verify all my transcripts before I click submit! Currently working full time and taking my last 3 pre recs online. What about you?

Got an email today! Then I saw this thread and looked in my spam... got one on the 24th as well. Just a heads-up, since I'm not sure when the 10 day deposit deadline started. People that got emails today might only have 4 days left!

Just got my acceptance email for the June San Mateo cohort. Email came in around 3:20 this afternoon.

Hi Lisa, looks like we are going to be friends: ) I also got an acceptance to San Mateo/June this afternoon. It was not my first choice, and in fact I only put Oakland/May down, but at least I am in. I am so grateful they were able to find a spot by switching location. To everyone still waiting, hang in there. Blessings.

Hi finnieng, I'm also on the waitlist. I hope we both get in! Does your email also say that classes are September 11, 2017 (toward the bottom of the email)? I don't know if this is a typo, because I applied for Summer 2017, which starts in June...

To everyone else - have you heard anything about the waitlist and the chances of getting in if you're on it?

I have several friends and coworkers that have done the SMU ABSN program in the recent past. All have said their cohorts went at least 5-10 deep into the the waitlist. Some more than that. It's a huge financial commitment so lots of spots open up after that 10 day mark (from notification of acceptance to deposit required).
