Has anyone received an interview yet? I am anxiously awaiting each day, but still waiting for my GPA to be calculated on NursingCAS (submitted on 2/14 and completed by them on 2/28). Anyways, I would love to hear about how others are doing during this process!
Hi CarolC415. OK, so obviously we know they're still doing interviews, hence yours on Thursday. I didn't get clear numbers but it sounds like they got 4x the applications than available slots. Out of those 96 (there are 24 slots, right?), they're only interviewing half. I also wanted to note that I was told there is "significant movement from the waitlist to the available slots."It would be great if you could gently 'fish' and see if they'll be doing interviews the following week. :) Thanks!
It sounded like they're interviewing this week and next for sure. :) I was told that I would find out if I was accepted in 2 weeks which would mean ~3/29. But as you know I got an early call.
Hope this helps?? :)
Congrats kzimmerman!! I also got accepted!!! yaaaaaay!
the person who interviewed me was very friendly and inviting, not threatening at all. We laughed a lot and i felt the interview went really well when i left. i think it's important to really talk about how your past experience in work/volunteer can help you as a CM and what exactly a CM does. just remember to show enthusiasm! you've come so far, good luck stifffunny and carolc!
Congrats, kzimmermann! That's terrific. Thanks so much for the info that you
shared; being chosen means that you really stood out among many others.
I'm reviewing some literature related to the field of nursing case managment and
just really mentally prepping myself for the interview. Tomorrow the hunt is on for
some interviewing attire--it's been awhile since I've had to interview for anything :)
I have an uncommon perspective from within this that I'll reveal later; but
I'm basically trusting the process and not worrying too much. Trying to 'get my Zen on', you know?
Enjoy your news....celebrate!

Thanks so much, CarolC. It sounds like you'll do wonderfully, and I think trusting the process and not worrying is a great approach. And I know what you mean about "Getting your Zen on" Non-sequitur: For a birthday present, I gave a friend of mine a clock and at each space where there is supposed to be a number, it had a picture of a Buddha and said "Now". :) I think I'll get myself one of those.
Again, good luck to you on Thursday and post as soon as you get a chance!
Don't be nervous, Stifffunny!! :) You've made it this far, and from the sound of it, they're interviewing us because we're definitely well qualified. At this point, they're not going to waste time, so remember that when you walk in.Oh god!! U guys make me even MORE nervous! AHHHHHH!!!
Go kick some butt and good luck!! I'm looking forward to your post-interview post! :)
oh yeah..i forgot to say...CONGRATS kzimm and lele!I have one question though...How dressy did you guys dress? I remember from...i think the FNP forum that they just dressed business casual.
I wore a suit, actually. Black, very light blue thin pinstriped jacket and slacks. Stacked heels.
The other girl who was interviewing the same time as I also wore a full suit (black) with a white blouse.
So, even though they say business casual, since that covers such a wide range of interpretation, I would start at the very least with a more business-y look.
I also brought a notebook with me and copies of my CV on nice paper. I wound up giving a copy to the CM faculty interviewer so if you get a chance, bring a couple of copies of your resume or CV. If you need help, I'll send you mine as a template.
Thanks kzimm...you are so helpful! I hope I get in so that I can MEET you! It would be great if you can send me yours as a template. Honestly, I've been trying to change/update my resume and draft a CV for a while now and have been unsuccessful just because I HATE doing it! Whenever I set out to finish my resume and CV I just go blank and have major writer's block for some reason. It's one of the things that I DREAD doing. lol! I will PM you my email address!

Yay Stifffunny! :) I'm so glad you got one! I knew you would!
As posted on here before the interview was one on one. It was very hard to read the CM faculty who interviewed me. We talked a bit about my science grades. I'm kind of an anomaly: I got As in Chemistry and Statistics, but got Bs in Anatomy and Physiology. (Long story about the Bs, but that'll be for another day).
When I left I thought, "Ugh. I'm not sure if I did very well." I did a lot of review in my mind to see where I may not have done so well, and what I feel I could have done better.
Well, lo and behold I got a call about 45 minutes ago (It's 7:15 now). I've been accepted.
I think I squealed on the phone!!
Sorry for the novel. Net, the interview depends upon your experience and felt to me like any job interview except, thank goodness, for the stupid questions like, "If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be?"
