Has anyone received an interview yet? I am anxiously awaiting each day, but still waiting for my GPA to be calculated on NursingCAS (submitted on 2/14 and completed by them on 2/28). Anyways, I would love to hear about how others are doing during this process!

Thanks for starting this thread! I am in the exact same boat as you with the exception of a 2 week difference. Mine shows "application started 1/3/2011, application complete 2/1/11". I wish I had some insight, but on the good side, an email went out the day before yesterday that they're still accepting applications for Case Management. Since our apps are at NursingCAS, I assume we're good.

Have you contacted anyone at SM by chance? I had a brief exchange with Karena, and sounded like things were still hopeful.

Fingers crossed for us, of course. :)

Hi Lele07,

I saw you on the FNP post, but just in case, wanted to let you know that Nursing CAS finally calculated my GPA today. That means about 3 weeks from the time the application showed completed.

Keep me posted on your situation. : )

I'll let you know if I hear anything from SMU.

That's awesome!! My gpa got calculated I believe last Thursday and from what I've been reading on the other FNP posts, the next thing to wait for is notification that SM has received the application and is reviewing it. Have you been reading that too? Please let me know if you hear anything from them and I will do the same! Did you apply to the FNP program too? Which is your first choice?

Is no one else applying to the CM program? I hardly see anyone posting about it. If not, I hope there isn't much competition and we both get in! :)

I will definitely let you know the second I hear anything. In addition to not that many people posting, I did get that email advising that they were still accepting applications for CM for Fall, in addition to some other ABSN programs. I can't find the email, but I believe I got it last week. Anyway, that's a good sign too!

I applied for both programs, and while FNP is my ultimate goal, it's not so much first choice as the different directions.

All my past experience will actually benefit becoming a Case Manager, so I have somewhat of a "head start" in the project management area. Hope that makes sense, I'm a little rum-dum from managing my own brother's case today (stroke victim).

What was your first choice, or are you kind of in a similar frame?

I wanted to apply to both programs, but I wasn't sure if the admissions committee would see that as me not being sure about what I wanted to do. My friend who is in the CM program right now advised me to apply to only one, but I've heard many people apply to both and am kind of wishing I applied to both now just for a better chance of getting in. I just applied through the CM because its less competitive and because I heard you can switch to either program after the first year no matter what program you're in.

Anyways, I'm sorry to hear about your brother and hope to hear some good news from you soon!

hello all! i just wanted to update everyone i received an email today about signing up for interviews for the entry-level case management track. but i did put in my application in december-ish and everything was already calculated by then. so hang in there everyone =)

I also got an email about interviews yesterday. I submitted my application on 1/15.

Does anyone know if they will interview candidates in groups like they do for FNP?

@Bubbles & Bblue: Congratulations on getting your interview emails! And Bubbles, thanks for the encouragement. It's hard not to be anxious, but I appreciate you sharing your timeline and the encouragement.

@Lele07: I actually applied for the FNP track after I submitted my application for CM. I did weigh the risk of it not looking like I am definite about my direction, but you can see my mindset from my novel above. ; ) Given all the people who applied for both programs, I think you'll be in good shape.

Hey again! I also wanted to mention that i actually applied to all 3 programs - cm and fnp track, as well as the absn! I have already gotten into the absn... After careful consideration of my choices, I'm actually sticking to the absn track and will not be attending the interview for cm. So hopefully that'll open up spots for someone who deserves it more! Hi Lele07,

Well, I still haven't heard anything from SMU, but I did get a confirmation back from NursingCAS that my application was forwarded over on 2/24, so it's only been a week. I do know that ELMSN admissions was out of pocket last week early this week. (Note: we're not supposed to write out names on the board -- found that out last week).

I've yet to hear back from ELMSN admissions, but will let you know when / if I do!

Have you heard anything as of yet?
