Samuel Merritt ELMSN Sacramento 2011

Published

Hey everyone- I thought it was time to start a new thread for the up and coming applicant pool for the ELMSN Sacramento cohort 2011. Five months until applications are due and it doesn't hurt to start communicating with one another already. I met with the admissions counselor last week and she gave me many pointers on how to strengthen my application. Can't wait to hear from some others out there who will be in it with me for the remainder of the year hoping to get into SMU.

Congrats to you pphmd, your wait is over.

atmywindow - thanks for the heads up on the 2 week wait. I got my e-mail confirming that today. Darn, It's a good thing that life is too busy to dwell on such things.

Hi guys, I heard back just yesterday that I do have an interview with the FNP program this coming weekend. I'm nervous and excited, it will be a phone interview because i'm in Illinois and it would be really difficult for me to find a cheap enough flight (they were upwards of $500)- yikes! congrats to both of you that heard back and got in. I talked to the admissions office and they hope to be able to let everyone know about the master's programs by the end of the month, so we all need to hang in there just a few more weeks! Best of luck to everyone and wish me luck on my interview!

Hey ilnurse,

Good luck with your interview!!

Let us know what happen!:)

Hey ilnurse,

I have a phone interview too this weekend! I hope that this doesnt leave us lower on the totem pole as an applicant... I'm not even in the country right now! Good luck to you!

I wouldn't think so, this is a one -on- one ( or I guess, one- on- the panel) type of interview, it might be better for us because we can really get to talk to them without worrying about other people'e answers being too similar to ours. Well, I hope so anyways. When is your interview this weekend? Oh, and where are you? It's really exciting that your traveling!

I agree, ilnurse!

I think you guys have an advantage of being able to talk to someone one-on-one. I think those of us in the group interview with 18 other individuals had the biggest disadvantage, because it was hard to stand out among so many great applicants, and we weren't able to give them any real indication of who we are as a person. I would have preferred a more personal one-on-one interview.

Let us know how your phone interviews go! Good luck!

I wonder when the next group interview is being held? Anyone get the invite to this?

Yes I had the option of a phone interview or a live interview. The live interview will be held on Saturday 10-12 PST. I always forget that i'm 2 hours ahead!

I'm curious how many people will be in the third group interview!

When is the third group if l may ask.

I havent yet confirmed an interview time becuase i am across the globe in india right now working with some charitable organizations...ive actually been travelling throughout western europe (for fun) and eastern europe (charitable work) and now am here in India and will be making way to nepal. The time difference poses a little challenge. But we are working on it :-) Im so happy to have gotten the interview I would be thrilled to get into such an amazing school! Any tips from those who have already interviewed??

I think that this is the interview time they offered me if I were going to be able to get to California
