Hello!
I applied to the Samuel Merritt ELMSN FNP Spring 2017 cohort! Was wondering if there were any of you out there as I am anxiously awaiting to hear about interviews.
If any current SMU ELMSN FNP students have any input on:
1. the interview process
2. what you would do to prepare for the program knowing what you know now
3. why you chose SMU
I would love to hear feedback!
@mickeydoodle315 thank you for your offer. That is so nice of you. I'll surely let you know beforehand if I need a ride back to the airport. @HappyTammy: I'm hoping to get the 22nd as well. @Chesrose How did you find out about that statistic? That is awesome and good to know! I asked the interview coordinator for the CM program, but she said she could not tell us how many people got invited to interview. Hope to see you all at the interview!
@FionaL No problem! @Chesrose not sure how long the interview is. I do recall somewhere on all nurses that one interview did last about 2.5 hours, which is over the 90 minute anticipation. Given that potentially there's a 2 hour gap in between the two dates, I'm guessing it's about 2 hours long? I've also asked for the 22nd as well as I'm actually coming back from a work conference on the 21st so can't make it that day. Scheduled for 4PM, but also mentioned to them that I was open for 6PM if it was full. Not sure since I responded after work hours. :) For everyone who's going on the 22nd, excited and hoping to meet you all! :)
I got an email confirmation for the 22nd at 4pm as well. Excited to see you all.
I made a compile list of commonly asked questions reading a few articles on nursing interview. I would try to answer these to get myself ready for the BIG day. How do you prepare for the interview. Please share! Hope it helps!
Questions:
1. Tell us why you'd like to become a nurse.
2. What are some of your hobbies or passions?
3. If you see a classmate stealing, what would you do?

5. Why do you want to be admitted into our nursing program?
6. What would you do if you find yourself struggling in a nursing course?

Hey everyone! I also received an email on the 9th for an interview to the ELMSN-FNP program.
This essentially means we made quite a decent first cut right?
Since there are about 300-400 applicants and 30-60 spots, they must only call 100 or less to interview!
Does anyone know the structure of the group interview?
The email said it will be 90 minutes long, although older forums for the same program said it can take up to 2.5 hours!
