Hello!

I applied to the Samuel Merritt ELMSN FNP Spring 2017 cohort! Was wondering if there were any of you out there as I am anxiously awaiting to hear about interviews.

If any current SMU ELMSN FNP students have any input on:

1. the interview process

2. what you would do to prepare for the program knowing what you know now

3. why you chose SMU

I am a current student at Samuel Merritt University (SMU) and will graduate April 2017, so excited.

I started this mentorship program for ethnically diverse students. Two colleagues and SMU is assisting me with this.

If you are applying to the SMU's SACRAMENTO CAMPUS ONLY - ABSN or ELMSN and interested in having a mentor for a year, please message me or email me at [email protected].

I'm in my 30s and it took me a long time to get here. I don't want to see other students of disadvantage backgrounds (1st generation college student, low socioeconomic background, etc.) to take such a long path.

I can also answer your questions about the ELMSN-FNP program or process.

Hi! I'm so glad that you started this post! I couldn't quite figure out how to start a post for this, but I have applied to the ELMSN program for the upcoming year. I'm also anxiously waiting to hear back and see if I'll get an interview! Waiting is so hard!!! Hoping we'll hear soon though since August is slowly coming to an end. ;)

I went to the informational meeting last week. They said that we should be hearing back this month (September). The admission counselor didn't say when this month. If I hear anything, I will let you guys know!

Update! My friend who also applied to the ELMSN-FNP Spring 2017 program received a call rom SMU today saying she was accepted without an interview! I was so jealous!!! However, she declined because she is going to do the ABSN program beginning next week with SMU instead. Hopefully we start getting some calls/emails soon!

I just got an invitation for interview. Check you email, the invitation might be lying there waiting for you to open. Good luck everyone.

Quick question, anyone else is from out of town? Do you stay a few days for the interview or just fly there and go back on the same day? Thank you! I'm stressing out because the interview is super short noticed and the plane tickets are so expensive. :(

Hi all! I also got an email for an interview! :) @FionaL, the Sac airport isn't too far away from the SMU Sacramento campus; without traffic, it'll take about 20 minutes (usually less). I haven't tried it myself, but I'm actually commuting up from work in the Bay Area to make it to my interview. Crazy...but if you want, I can take you back to the airport if you need a ride! Just let me know.
