Hello fellow applicants, alumni, and SMU associates,

Can anyone provide insight into the application timeline for SMU's ELMSN-FNP program intended to start Fall 2020 (Oakland cohort)? The deadline to submit applications through NursingCAS was December 1, 2019.

-When should we expect correspondence to interview or for denial?

-Are interviews 1:1 or mixed, or both?

-When do final acceptances usually go out?

I emailed Anne yesterday, asking if they are still sending invitations to interview for the FNP program. She responded today at 8am, here is what she wrote:

"ELMSN-FNP interviews are on-going and I have not been informed that all invitations have been sent. I think if you do not receive an invitation to interview by the end of the month, it is not a good sign. But we will eventually notify all applicants by email of their status."

end of this month is far away!!

Thanks ? for emailing Anne and posting this update. End of the month is really far away ? at least not all hope is lost, we just have to wait a little longer guys. I haven’t heard anything yet either.

I'm curious what anyone knows about how UCSF and SMU compare as far as what they are looking for and how they make their decision. Are they using really different metrics? I got in to UCSF MEPN FNP, but here I am probably not even getting an interview at SMU. Thoughts?

Hi guys! I’ve been lurking on this thread since it was created and it has long helped to ease my anxieties about this process. I just received a phone call and was officially accepted into the ELMSN fnp fall 2020 program! Beyond excited for what’s to come!!
