Samuel Merritt ELMSN Fall 2012

Published

Hii!!!

I've been looking all over for a thread about SM ELMSN Fall 2012 but have not found any!! So I guess I'll be the first to post something about it. Since application deadline is today, any hopefuls like to share their application experiences, stats, goals, anything related to nursing school? Now that apps are completed, the waiting begins...sooooo exciteddd!!! :nurse: I applied to the FNP track, crossing my fingers :uhoh3:

Thanks Mochikat! I did take up on their offer to pass my app to the CM department and now I have an interview with them on the 28th! I"m so excited and a bit nervous. I guess all I can do is relax and see how that goes. :) live.love.laugh
Hi live.love.laugh,I'm sorry to hear about that but on a positive note, you are interviewing for CM. i know that these interviews are one on one. Good luck to you and let us know how it goes!

At least you got something - I have a friend who never heard a word either way, despite being in contact with the person in charge on ampus. It was really frustrating for her watching me go to my interview, etc. (I ended up wait listed but everyone showed up).As everyone keeps saying, just keep applying - the right place will find you!

To Danagill: I'm interviewing Monday as well, at 10am. What time are you scheduled? I'm extra nervous b/c the email invitation I received stated that "we know you've interviewed before and this one will be completely different!" Does anyone know what that means?!

Kandd99 and Danagill, are you guys interviewing for CM or FNP?

Hi guys,

I went to an FNP interview but I think they said the CM & FNP interviews are conducted the same way. It's a group interview with about 18 interviewees and two faculty members. Everyone is really nice so don't be nervous =). FYI: the parking garage on I believe Summit is really expensive. I paid $18 for 4 hours.

They already told you that you are waitlisted?I'm so jealous of you guys who already had your interviews... The anxiety is growing more and more each day! Both of mine are next week! I get nauseous just thinking about it...

Congrats on getting both interviews, Xzalense! I'm sure you'll do great! Did you apply to the ABSN program as well?

Hi kandd99,I interviewed on the 11th and during our interview the directors mentioned that if an applicant went through the group interview process and was not offered admission, should they choose to apply again, they would have a one on one interview the second time around. That's all they said regarding a second interview. They also stated that FNP interviews have traditionally been group interviews and CM interviews are one on one. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Thanks! I'm sure you will nail your CM interview too! I didn't apply to the ABSN because I think they require a pharmacology class prior to applying, right?

To Mochikat, I'm interviewing for FNP.

To xzalense, I think I wasn't clear - I was waitlisted for the Spring start in Sacramento and they only got to 3 on the waitlist, I was 5. So they forwarded my app down to Oakland and now I'm interviewing on Monday for the Fall start in Oakland. Don't sweat the interview, it's pretty easy - as someone already mentioned, a group of potential students with two instructors - not intimidating at all. Good luck!

To Naznazy, thanks for the info. I wasn't nervous before but now I am! What the heck are they going to talk to me about for 2+ hours?! Oh well, we'll see. At least I'm already in USF if this doesn't work out...
