I was wondering if you guys know if thats possible to get into the accelerated program if you have a C grade on Physiology? I havent gotten the final grades for this semester, and I am nervious...

Anyone from the San Francisco Bay area/Sacramento, or CA in general got in with a C? Please, share, I am sooooooooooooo nervious.....

thank you!!!

Hi - I'm sorry you are so worried.

If I were you, I would go in and meet with the admissions counselors. They are there on Tues. and Wed. from 10-11am I believe (in Oakland).

Are you applying to the one year absn? If you have As in your other classes and a strong NET score, I would think one C might be OK. Have you taken the NET?

Thank you,

yes, I already took NET and my composite score is 88,

I already met with the counselor, and she told me something like that they'd look at the overal science gpa and etc., i cant quite recall... But the thought of that I could have a C on my transcripts scares me (our instructor still hasnt posted the final grades)

any other thoughts?

thanks again

Do you have As in your other sciences?

Your worrying may be premature - maybe you got a B :)

Oh I wish and I hope!!!

my other grades:

Micro A

Chem A

Anat B

Patho A

Pharmo A

Nutr A

Specializes in ED, Cardiac-step down, tele, med surg.

I'm in the SF program now and from what your grades look like above, you should be fine, though it depends on the applicant pool. Hope you get into the program of your choice,

J

thank you guys,

well, today it is official i got a C, so upsetting.

any other thoughts or personal experiences?

As your other science grades are very good, I really wouldn't sweat it at all. I know how disappointing that can be, but I really think you having nothing to worry about. :) Good luck!

Thank you, I hope so,

Right now I am putting my application together, and getting ready to apply. So, hopefully...:)

Maximus,

Did you ever get in to the Samuel Merritt program with a C in Physio?

I'm trying for their regular BSN but I have a C in Stats and a C in General Chem. I have A's in everything else (which is alright considering there are like 20 other prerequisites for the generic BSN!). I know I won't get in for the Fall semester, but I'm still looking at Spring.

I got into Samuel Merritt BSN program with a C in physiology. My other grades were A's and B's. I believe they look over your science GPA as well as your application. I remember I had to write 2 essays answering two questions. I put alot of thought into those essays and actually submitted them myself to Samuel Merritt on the very last day they were accepting applications. I stayed positive and pictured them reading my essays and putting mine in the "yes" pile. It worked, I got in! Go for it and stay positive. SMC seems to love apps that tell where you've been, what you want to do now, why, and how else you will change the world for the better. When you get accepted you will realize that everybody there deserves to be there for their own unique reasons - it's pretty cool. good luck

Did you apply for the generic BSN or accelerated? And for what term--spring or fall? I'd love to hear back from you. I have a C in general chemistry and a C in statistics and have almost no hope of getting in to nursing school--let alone Samuel Merritt.

I scored in the 98th percentile on the NET, and I believe I had a pretty decent essay (volunteer work, CNA experience, long family history of nurses, etc.), but those C's are really killing me! :banghead: Luckily I had A's (two B's--Micro and Philosophy) in the rest of my prerequisites, but still the C's bring me down.

I'm not even going to try for Fall--they're only admitting 4 or 6 students. I'll definitely try for Spring admission, though.

Any advice?
