Samuel Merritt Bsn Spring 2017

Published

I applied to Spring 2017 for Samuel Merritt's BSN program. I wanted to start a forum so we can all come to wait anxiously for our responses! I applied to Fall 2016, but was not accepted. Talked to ********** and was told it was because my application arrived on the later end, so they already filled the spots. So I applied early this time... And fingers are crossed!

Hoping to hear from others who are going through this agony waiting game too. I hear it wil be November before we get our letters. That is so long! Ugh. Good luck all! :sarcastic:

I applied for Spring 2017 with the July 1st application dead line and then they extend the application date to august 1st because they didn't get enough applicants, Im really hoping I get in :) I have a 3.75 Science GPA (Missed my A in Chem by 1%) and 3.9 gpa overall. I didn't do so great on the TEAS 70 over all because I took it during finals and didn't study for it at all. So Im hoping my total GPA over shadows my stupid TEAS score. The wait is KILLING ME! I don't want to wait till November!

that's a really good sign that there weren't enough applicants. I applied last time around and didn't get in to which I found out was because my application was received towards the end and the decisions had been made, but my application was really strong. They said spring is easier to get into. So hopefully! I turned mine in early June. This wait is excruciating lol. They focus really hard on the personal statements/essay questions.

Well I hope that we get in! I have put a lot of eggs in this basket, but Im also planning on applying to all the other local programs in fall but I don't want to wait another year to start, plus the additional months of the other programs run. I'll be retaking the TEAS I know I can score a lot better then I did the first time. Ive never wanted to put on a pair of stupid white scrubs so bad lmao, fingers crossed we get in!

Haha I inderstand. I wouldn't take the teas again until after you see if you get accepted or not. You'd be surprised. I only got a 73 and I was told they were good by the admissions dept. don't stress :)

Hey guys! I applied last fall 2016 too and didn't get in. However I was urged to reapply by a certain someone and was told I have a really good chance of getting in. Apparently there was just too many applicants last time, and it was too competitive. I applied aug 1st, the extended the deadline till then, and I waited last minute. My stats are pretty high, 3.8 gpa, teas sucked 70%, I feel my essays are really strong, I have 5 letters of recommendation, one from a nurse supervisor. I just have 2 classes in progress that they way, a History and speech class.

Hey guys. I am also applying to BSN 2017. I hope we all get in. My over all gpa is pretty low I only have 3.5 but my teas is 80%. I also have letters of recommendation from my science professor and my volunteer head at Mills peninsula. I saw on the student profile that they look at reading and math section of teas. Ill say font worry about your over all score because if they see you did good on math and reading then I guess you should be fine. Although I have 3.5 gpa, my pre req gpa is somewhere around 3.7. My general educations ****** up my gpa. Btw, what school do you guys do to? I go to sf state. Anyways, I wish the best of luck to all of us.

Hey! I am from Sacramento, and I go to sacramento State. I really hope that we all get in. will you guys be commuting, or looking to find a roommate?

I want to wear those white scrubs so bad too lol I put a lot of eggs into the basket too

Hello fatimazaka! I go to sf state but it is really impacted and idk if i will get in so I decided to tru samuel merritt. And idk yet if I will do dorms or find apartment coz I lived at sf so idk if need it. Are you also gonna do loans?

@heart20, I was going to apply to SF state for the fall. You should still apply anyways, I made a mistake by only applying to 3 places last fall. It's so hard now to get into a nursing program. :( I work as Nurse assistant, that won't be enough to pay off the tuition lol so yes I will need to get loans.
