Samuel Merritt Bsn Spring 2017

Published

I applied to Spring 2017 for Samuel Merritt's BSN program. I wanted to start a forum so we can all come to wait anxiously for our responses! I applied to Fall 2016, but was not accepted. Talked to ********** and was told it was because my application arrived on the later end, so they already filled the spots. So I applied early this time... And fingers are crossed!

Hoping to hear from others who are going through this agony waiting game too. I hear it wil be November before we get our letters. That is so long! Ugh. Good luck all! :sarcastic:

@fatimazaka .i wnated to apply at sf state but uts really hard. My friend she got 3.9 gpa and 90 on teas but shes still on waiting list ..lol the struggle is real.

From what I've heard, they look at the reading and math portions of the teas, your letter of recommendation, and your essays the hardest. So don't stress about your gpa's. They aren't even bad, so ease up on yourselves :) spring is easier to get into from what I've been told. I turned my application in in June, because after talking to S.H. there, she told me thT my application was "late" by time nursingcas verified it all and sent it over, so they had already made their decisions. I was told I had a very good chance and to just be sure that it gets there on time. She also told me my teas were solid, and I only got a 73%, that my GPA was good, which was a 3.3 in regular classes and 3.8 in sciences. She said my application was strong; so relax everyone and take a deep breath. You guys have better stats than me! She also said that if you have applied before, they mark that because they like to give the opportunity to people who have applied more than once. I have good feelings about it, but I'm still SO nervous. i just sound confident to help all you haha 😜 I hope we all get in!

I graduated from DVC community college last December, and finished up the world history prerequisite at Grossmont College online in San Diego, since it wasn't offered here anywhere I could find. So now, I'm just waiting. It's the only place i plan on applying and I will eventually get in. It's been my dream since I was a little girl, since my mother graduated from there and was a labor and delivery nurse.

Is it November yet? 😩

I'm just realized I repeated a lot of what I've already said. Sorry about that. Didn't remember writing it all until after I posted and read through again 😁

**Sorry for the repeat of info. I didn't remember what I said already until after posting and re-reading

Hey guys. Someone told me that samuel meritt is really competitive thats why Ive been stressing. But big thanks to erinnoel! you're boosting my confident. I really hope we get in. I just know that every school has competitive BSN program. I really hope we all get in. When you ask questions, did you talk to this lady named shawn holbrook?

Yes but they will delete that name when they see it. She is the head of admissions... A very good one to speak with. It is a very competitive school, but what nursing school isn't? The good thing about this one, is it's very expensive, so it narrows down the amount of people in the pool. So while the odds are the same? The candidates are thousands less. If you don't get in, just keep applying. Luckily, there's 2 semesters you can start. Most peoole get in by their 3rd time applying. So hang in there. We got this!

I think decisions are made by october? I hope its this early. Im really stressed. UGHH.

Oh I hope October! I was told November, but that was a while ago.. When were you told October?

I was told last month lol. Do you know someone who got admitted to the program recently?

Hi - just to confirm, is this for the Accelerated BSN program in San Mateo beginning in January 2017?

Hello. No its not. This is for samuel merritt BSN program. Sorry.

I don't know anyone personally who has gotten accepted, but I've read a few of these past semester forums. My mother went there 30 years ago, and I went to an alumni brunch last month with her. I got to talk to some of the current students, which was cool. I'm excited! I just don't want another rejection letter í ½í¸©
