Hi Everyone! I know this is a bit early but I will be applying to SMU for the ABSN program of Summer 2014 (Oakland Campus). I am currently finishing my Bachelor's degree in health science at CSUEB right now and I will be done in the fall. I just wanted to start a discussion on this topic and get to know some people who are applying to the program for summer 2014. Let's get to know each other, share our stats, etc.

Here are my estimated stats that they look at:

Last 60 units GPA: 3.5

Pre req GPA: 3.4

Teas: 83 but I am re taking it in a couple of weeks

Experience: I am a CNA and Med tech currently. I volunteer at John Muir hospital and at American Red Cross.

I hope to hear from some prospective applicants soon!

Hi I am planning on applying by the July 1 deadline for the Sacramento campus. This is a second career for me and since graduating from college I have been working in the architectural field specializing in hospitals, mob and health care settings. This has been such a long road for me and I am so anxious to get my dream career going. I am taking the Teas tomorrow and also signed up for another in two weeks just incase.

Stats are:

Last 60 units 3.5

Pre req worksheet 3.57

Sciences 4.0

I have physiology outstanding that I am taking during the summer and fall I have stats and patho. How many letters of reference are u turning in. I asked 4 people just incase and all have given back to me. So should I turn in all 4? The wait until November s going to be long!

Looks like you have good stats! I think I am going to turn in 3. I believe that they told me max 5 letters. They don't want too much too read u know? How was your teas score? Good luck :)

I started filling out my application today, gave me chills!

I'm interested in Oakland campus for next summer too, but need to blast out Patho and Pharm this summer through SBCC.

The ap asks for two letters of recommendation, I'm thinking two solid ones are sufficient but three is probably ok. They've got a ton of applications to review so I'm not going to bog them down with any more references than that.

I worked about 12 years as an environmental scientist before starting my journey in health care a little over a year ago.

As of right now...

Last 60 units: 3.9

Pre req worksheet: 3.8 (currently)

Sciences 4.0

And I've been working as an ER tech for one year.

Oh, and a volunteer ski patroller for 10 years.

I'm super excited to be actually starting the application process. One thing I've noticed as my friends and I are grinding through our pre-reqs is that being supportive of each other is incredibly useful. Let's be kind and helpful to one another through this process!

What other programs are you folks looking at?

Hi everyone! Pretty much one month from today is the big day!! I'd like to get an idea of how many of us are applying for Summer 2014. I'll be applying to San Mateo for June 1st start date. Any idea on after we submit our app when they send out acceptance letters?

Hi everyone!

I am applying for Summer 2014, Oakland campus. I will still have classes in progress when I turn in my application so hopefully that wont hurt me too much. So glad to find this thread!

Melissa- I heard 3-4 months but then I also saw on summer 2013 thread that they didn't hear until march!! Hopefully this year will be sooner.

Ljane- I'm applying for Oakland too! I think it's okay that u still have classes in progress. As long as they are done by dec. Have u finished your writing samples yet?

Melissa and ljane-If you don't mind me asking what are your stats?
