I haven't found a thread for this yet, so I figured I would start one! I am applying in August, after I have my grades from my summer courses. I was wondering what stats other applicants have as well :) I still have to complete human physio lab, general chem and lab, nutrition, and psych so I am not sure if I will get in this time around, but it can't hurt to apply!

Congrats Brandie! Join the Facebook group Samuel Merritt University - ABSN Oakland - Class of 2014. I made the FB group page descriptive as there are lots of SMU groups out there! Its confusing with the names/dates for all the SMU groups on FB - some are by cohort start year and others year graduating. :-D. The group is there, though PM me if you don't find it. High fives again on your news!

Science pre-req GPA: 4.0
The humbling thing kp, is that I was so sure I was going to be accepted. There were a lot of qualified applicants this year. Also - I had 0 volunteer experience and I really feel that it must have been the reason I wasn't originally accepted. So - if you aren't already - get out there and volunteer! I'm currently volunteering at Kaiser and really feel their volunteer program is wonderful. Good luck to you!
Hey Oakland Cohort - can you give me info about orientation and any other important dates. I believe I remember someone saying they are around 4/12. Since I was notified so late, I want to make sure I am prepared. Thanks!
Hi Brandie, I believe the orientation for the Oakland cohort is May 9 and 10th. I also think the program officially starts on May 28th (per the academic calendar I downloaded and printed from the SMU website).
