Samuel Merritt ABSN Summer 2012

Published

Hi everyone! :nurse:

So, the applications are due today (September 1st) for summer admission to ABSN program at Samuel Merritt. How does everyone feel about their application??  What campus did you apply to?

Thanks CaptainButtWipe!

Since I'm on such a time crunch now, I am considering something called a challenge exam to fulfill the requirement. I had no idea that this was even an option until the counselor told me about it.

Have you done a challenge exam for any of your requirements? It cost about the same as taking the class but seems a lot more convenient. However, I am worried that I won't pass the exam since I haven't taken the class. Any advice?

Hi everyone, I'm new in the forum. It is good to know that there are other people like me, supper anxious with this whole process :-)

I also apply to

1.Oakland

2.SF

3.San Mateo.

I got my first e-mail from SMU on October 14 requesting some more info about some classes I took years ago in my home country. It took me a couple of weeks to get everything together and yesterday I received an email saying "Perfect! Your file is now IP and moving on to the next stage"

I think this means that they accept my classes?!?!

Does anyone know what the next stage is?

Good luck to everyone!

Sika,

The next stage means that your application has been forwarded to the nursing dept. for review.

I applied last year and heard of the admissions decision on Feb 18...only a few more months to go...

Aggie,

Were you admitted?

Aggie,

Were you admitted?

Yup I was...but decided to go to a elmsn program instead.

Aggie,

Wow. Congrats! Are you in the CM or FNP program? How do you like it so far? Would you be willing to share your stats? Sorry for all the questions. I'm just so worried and anxious.

I'm in a FNP program. I'd say they look at your whole app, not just stats on GPA and test score. Try to get as much volunteer work in as possible, esp with underserved populations. Shadowing a NP would be good as well as taking Spanish classes. And try to make your PS stand out any way you can.

Why were 2 pages of responses to this thread erased?

Yeah....About 10-15 days ago, I noticed that their website was down for like 5 or 6 days or so. As soon as the website was back up, I noticed that 2 pages were gone. I think their server crashed and their most recent "save" only saved up until page 8...

Indeed, unfortunately, about 10 days' worth of data was lost during the upgrade.

Thanks for carrying on. :)

So crew...any one get an acceptance or rejection letter yet?
