Hi everyone!
So, the applications are due today (September 1st) for summer admission to ABSN program at Samuel Merritt. How does everyone feel about their application??
What campus did you apply to?
HERE'S WHAT I WROTE ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO (ALSO FOUND ON PAGE 9):
With the nerves out of control, I couldn't contain myself and I decided to call SMU. I asked one of the counselors from the admissions office when we would MOST LIKELY hear back and she stated that we'll probably be receiving emails during the last week of January on the decision.

So, I haven't contacted them for an update since then, but who knows...we might be finding out something THIS WEEK or maybe even NEXT WEEK. My guess is that we'll find out something next week. But who knows, for the Summer 2011 ABSN program, they started to receive decisions around March 10, 2011! Ouch!
Ha! Yeah....I'm pretty much chillin like a villain. Between trying to learn Spanish from Rosetta Stone, to enjoying easy self-employment income, to doing absolutely NOTHING, I think I may have just learned to control my anxiety and I'm just enjoying my "time off" from school at the moment.
Yeah, when you hear something from -----, definitely keep us posted on the # of applicants for the summer 2012 program.
Hey ABSN Hopefuls! I'm in the SMU OAK ABSN program now (48 students, due to graduate May 2012), so if you have any questions I might be able to answer, feel free to send. Please note that often answers are campus specific so if you're interested in OAK for Summer 2012, I can probably help the most! Overall, it's a fantastic program, well worth the money (we all know that no one can really afford it), and we are learning a ton. Some instructors are better than others, some clinical sites are better than others, and it's what you make of it. But that's the case with any academic adventure! Tons of guys in the program and ages ranging from 23 - 58 years old. I'm 39 with a husband and two kids (ages 3, 6) and it's totally doable. The hardest part is the Fall.

I'm new here too and I also would like to know what "status" of my app is. Once my fall classes were finished, I quickly printed and sent in an unofficial transcript for my last 2 classes including a stamped envelope so they could sent it back letting me know they got it. I did get the envelope back with a note saying the transcripts were received! Hopefully everyone gets in!!
My choices are
1. San Mateo (since it's closest to home)
2. Oakland
3. SF
Good luck!
