Samuel Merritt ABSN Summer 2012

Hi everyone! :nurse:

So, the applications are due today (September 1st) for summer admission to ABSN program at Samuel Merritt. How does everyone feel about their application?? :up: :down: What campus did you apply to?

I know, I am wondering the same thing... Do I start on the next round?? Do you know if we need to get new letters of recommendation or can we use the same ones?

I'm as nervous as the next, but everyone should just relax a bit. They said last week of january and were still in that week. From the looks of it no one has gotten any responses good or bad...also i recall reading in other threads from prior cohorts that they may roll applications over...and im sure we can get all that information from them one we find out the decision.

Some people have found out during the first week of instruction. I am anxious too; but, try not to sweat over this. If we don't get in this time we'll all have our opportunity at SMU or somewhere else.

Hey, just wanted to say good luck to all of you waiting to hear from SMU. I'm an alum, ABSN Oakland class of 2008. I'm pretty sure I got my acceptance letter the first week of February. I thought it was a great program! (some of my classmates would agree and some would disagree, but it was a good experience for me).

I am waiting to hear also and recently found and have been following the discussion here...thank you so much for keeping me sane during this wait. I would have otherwise called SMU several other times by now. Please post as soon as someone finds out either way and I will do the same. Good luck!

BTW, I got my notification by regular mail, not email. Sounds like they may be doing it differently now though.

hi all,

update!!!! i had sent ****** an email over a month ago asking how we find out (email, phone, regular mail) if we get in and if god forbid, we do not get in. she finally emailed me back this morning sayign that decisions come out feb 9th (day of) via email.

no problem at all. sorry for the delay

i will email every single applicant that very day

Katiebelle1, wow! To get a specific date was huuuuuuuge! Thanks for getting that answer for everyone on here. Like pnlu007 said, at least I'll be able to decompress a little and then have the anxiety build up as 2/9 starts to approach. I can't wait to see everyone's "i got accepted" comments on here just 1 week from now! Let's keep our fingers crossed!

I started asking for new letters of recommendation. Just in case.

So, we'll get the verdict on Feb. 9th eh? I guess I can stop checking my email every 10 minutes. hehe

I just wanted to let you all what I was told (emailed). I am not sure that it is a guarantee. The snippits I posted were from a thread of 4 or so emails so it was a little choppy and confusing in my comment. I didn't want to use any names just because it seemed best. This is the exact info I received this morning. So maybe ON feb 9th but "expected" around Feb 9th. The person who emailed me was very nice and I am sure the Admissions office phone is ringing off the hook. Im just going to lay low until I hear something. Easier said than done.

In case you didnt see my earlier post, this is a little more clear and the important parts are verbatim.

'The updated news is to expect answers around the 9th of February'

'I will email every single applicant that very day.'

At least we are all in the same boat. And we will all find out on the same day, I hope. But hey, at least we know we are finding out via email :) I was checking the mailbox, email and phone like a 16 year old girl!
