I'm new to this site, but have been following the allnurses posts regarding Samuel Merritt program applications religiously for a while now. I recently applied to the ABSN and ELMSN - FNP program for the July 1 deadline. Thought it would be great to have a place to provide insight, stay updated and share experiences with all of you through this terrifying journey. I mean we ONLYYY have to wait until October - November to hear anything. Let the wait begin.....
Hi ChrisBrazie, I applied three times and got in on the third try! I tried to improve something every application, whether that be boosting gpa or retaking the HESI A2. I think persistence can pay off.
Yes, I've emailed her twice and the general admissions email once as well. She also got back to me fairly quickly last week but must be enjoying the last day of her vacation off of her email today!
No, thank you for asking though! She just said this morning that she would look into it and get back to me. Hopefully I'll hear back tomorrow and it will get resolved, I don't want to pester her but really need this figured out well in advance of the 19th when letter of intent/deposit is due

I'm sorry to hear that it isn't resolved yet. I was really hoping you had an answer so that you could move on with the next steps of acceptance. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it gets resolved soon! Hopefully we are both at sac in January!

I haven't gotten an email yet but after reading through this thread, I was able to access the Admitted Student Portal (one positive!) - at the top it says "Congratulations! You've been admitted to SMU!" (second positive!) - but after the semester/ ABSN Sacramento information, it says "Your application for submission has been denied" (one negative!) ... gah! So confused!!! Emailed Katharine just now but since I can't sleep LOL thought I'd post here to see if there's still a glimmer of hope... !!!??!
Shereenicole, how were you able to access the admitted student portal if you hadn't received an email? I haven't received an email yet either...still keeping my fingers crossed though
LOL well my detective skills are being put to use today! After reading someone's comment on here about it, I just googled "Admitted student portal Samuel Merritt" and it came up! So I logged in with the email I used for my application... and it worked lol I have emailed Kritsen Peterson too. Eek!

Most people who contacted the school were told that all final decisions will be sent out by mid to late October.
