Hello!
I'm new to this site, but have been following the allnurses posts regarding Samuel Merritt program applications religiously for a while now. I recently applied to the ABSN and ELMSN - FNP program for the July 1 deadline. Thought it would be great to have a place to provide insight, stay updated and share experiences with all of you through this terrifying journey. I mean we ONLYYY have to wait until October - November to hear anything. Let the wait begin.....
Looking forward to hearing from you all :)
I'm one of the people that was notified yesterday, and to give you an idea of stats:My last 60 GPA: 3.73
Science GPA: 3.28 at time of app (unless you count pharm/patho, in which case it 3.5)
HESI: 94% (98-100% in everything, except A&P I had an 84% because I took it when I was only a month into A&P)
I don't have any experience working in a medical profession.
This is my second time applying, I was waitlisted last semester. Stay persistent, don't give up!
Also, I applied to Chamberlain last year and was told (after being denied!) that I wasn't anywhere near competitive enough. I think they said they only take 30 students at a time? They have a lot of open house events where you can tour it, etc. It's a really nice campus.
What did your final Science GPA end up being with just the 4 classes when you were accepted?
For those of you who have called for updates, did you ask specifically for the status of your application or did you ask for a general timeline? I emailed one of the counselors at the Oakland campus and she responded saying she doesn't have that information, but she redirected it to someone who may have the information. I'm thinking about calling for the status of my application, but I don't want to bother them and don't know if it'll do me any good..
Hello everyone! I have been following this thread but haven't posted. This is my third time applying, never been waitlisted.
Last 60 GPA: 3.7
Science GPA: 3.5
HESI 95%
My LORs are from nursing directors and the chief of nursing at the hospital I work at. I have worked in reputable hospitals for over 6 years and have a masters in healthcare administration...I also have not heard back yet. Previous years I heard back on the first day getting rejected :-/ good luck to everyone.

I asked about a general timeline as I figured they would just tell me to wait for my particular application status to be emailed to me.
This is a little unfair it looks like. Not sure what they're looking for if an applicant like jessjo has been rejected 3 times. And not even waitlisted but rejected. My stats and experience don't even compare to yours but I was waitlisted last cycle #26 for sac. That's just appalling. You should definitely try and apply for the ELMSN. Maybe you'd have better luck there?
