Samuel Merritt ABSN - Spring 2019

Published

Hello!

I'm new to this site, but have been following the allnurses posts regarding Samuel Merritt program applications religiously for a while now. I recently applied to the ABSN and ELMSN - FNP program for the July 1 deadline. Thought it would be great to have a place to provide insight, stay updated and share experiences with all of you through this terrifying journey. I mean we ONLYYY have to wait until October - November to hear anything. Let the wait begin.....

Looking forward to hearing from you all :)

Andddddd the email refresh begins!

Glad its not just me! Still nothing yet.

Hey guys I got into the Sac cohort!!! Can't wait to meet you guys! Now I just have to figure out how to pay for this :)

911dispatch, when did you receive your acceptance?

Specializes in Neuro, Trauma/Neuro ICU.

This morning at 0700.

That's awesome, congrats! Still playing the waiting game over here and trying to keep positive but I'll tell you it's hard. Super grateful to at least have other people to wait alongside.

Right. There. With. You. :(

Hey 911dispatch, do you think you could share your stats as far as HESI score, gpas and experience?

Specializes in Neuro, Trauma/Neuro ICU.

Of course not everyone has been very helpful with all their info!

My last 60 GPA: 3.6

Science GPA: 4.0 (micro in progress)

Hesi: 93%

I have been working as a 911 EMS/Fire Dispatcher for Sac for 8 yrs. Also have some experience interning at Sac Coroner's Office.

This group has been so wonderful and I am keeping my fingers crossed for everyone :)

I'm not sure if other people who haven't heard back yet are in the same boat as me, but it seems like the GPAs of those who have been accepted are higher than mine. Maybe they are basing acceptances on that so far?

What're your stats, if you don't mind me asking? I feel like my GPAs aren't that low, but i'm worried it's my HESI score that's effecting my overall application since I got an 86% overall.

Last 60 GPA: 3.33

Science GPA: 3.50

HESI: 95.2%

I volunteer in an ER currently and my letters of rec were from my anatomy and physiology professor, a previous ABSN sac graduate that works as an RN in the ER I volunteer in, and a Samuel Merritt BSN graduate who also works as an RN in the ER I volunteer in.
