Samuel Merritt ABSN Spring 2018

Published

Hey guys! I'm new to this forum but has anyone applied for Spring 2018 Cohort yet? I'm not sure if the applications are open yet but that is the cohort that I want to apply to. I will have my BA in Sociology in December 2017 and I am still doing my prerequisites. If you've already applied or are a current student, let me know if you think I'll have a chance at getting in.

Degree: BA in Sociology

Last 60 unit GPA: 3.4 (hoping to raise it to 3.6 by end of year)

Science GPA: 3.5 (still need to do Microbiology & Physiology)

Non-Science: 3.1 (Completed all)

CNA License: Yes

Paid Job Experience: Yes for 1.5 years

*Haven't taken HESi exam yet, but I will this month

Please help, what were your GPA's when you got in and when did you find out you were accepted? Also, if you were ever on the waitlist, when did you finally get accepted?

Hi @hobokitty! Thanks so much for the advice. You're right.. need to stay POSITIVE! :)

I am planning on applying next year but wanted to see if my stats are good enough to have a chance...

- havent taken HESI a2 yet

- Science GPA projected 3.52 (need to take physio lab)

- Past 60 or so units 3.75

- CNA licensing

- Experience in private senior caregiving, volunteer in various hospital settings, and worked professionally at a preschool (a form of caregiving & leadership)

Just received this email from Derric:

"Your application is being reviewed by faculty for decisions, which should go out in the next 2 weeks or so."

Don't wanna get everyone's hopes up-- but sounds like we will be hearing soon!

AHHHHH!!!! *DEEP BREATHING* Hoping to get that email soon!! Thank you for letting us know!

CAjingle, did you get an update? I know you've been waiting to inform your other schools as well.

Hi jum00! Your stats look great! When do you plan on taking the HESI?

Hi hobokitty! Was the email from Derric in response to an email you sent?

Which campus did everyone choose as their first choice? San Mateo or Sacramento? Mine was San Mateo :)

yes, it was in response to an email I sent to him.

No update yet. I went ahead and committed to the other school. Probably will stick with that decision regardless!

CAjingle, congratulations on getting admitted to a nursing school. That's awesome! I am still waiting to hear from SMU and there has been no update. I'm hoping we all hear some good news this week!

Congratulations CAjingle! :)

Thanks you guys!! Good luck to everyone!
