As the Nov 01 application deadline approaches, we should be at least finishing up with our application; some of us may have already mailed it out. Congratulations on taking an important step toward a successful nursing career!
I'm going to mail out my application this week. Currently taking English 1B and patho, I'll take speech and sociology next quarter. Life is not as hectic as when I was taking A&P and chem classes; attending both lecture and lab is so time-consuming. Now I can go zumba-ing 3-4 times a week at Clubone in San Jose. Life as a pre-nursing student is still good, even though I'm not contributing to my 401k.
Please use this thread to get to know each other, to prepare ourselves for the rigorous ABSN program, and to help each other succeed. Why? Because it's in giving that we're receiving!
I got my acceptance letter today for San Mateo. They want us to return the letter of intent by March 28th and there's a mandatory orientation on May 5th.
Does anyone know recent graduates from this program and what it has been like for them post-graduation?
Yukitiki - Yeah, the lottery at De Anza is insane. Some people wait a whole 2 years before being accepted. Are you planning to attend Samuel Merritt?
I also received the acceptance letter to San Mateo today.
Honestly I'd much rather got picked at De Anza lottery this morning...but 16/270 is way too slim.
I was there this morning and didn't see you. Actually, it was much worse than 16/270 because each of the 270 people there had different number of tickets on their hands ranging from one to six or even seven.

Thanks! Stats wise, my GPA for the last 90 quarter units wasn't too hot, I think it was around 3.2. For the prerequisites alone, it was 3.8. On the NET, I got a 91 but I read that they're replacing the NET with the TEAS. Hope this helps and good luck!! :)

u have high science GPA! how many times did u take the NET? I did kinds bad on English have to retake it. I might have to take NET since TEAS starts only on may. Thanks for sharing!!!
