Samuel Merritt ABSN Sacramento cohort 2016

Published

Hi All!

I am applying to the Sacramento ABSN cohort for 2016 and would like to hear from others that are applying or graduates of the program! Current application stats, thoughts on the program, etc. I have my bachelors from UC Davis in Nutrition and have TONS of experience in the ER. I am currently an ER Tech at Lodi memorial and have been a scribe at UC Davis. My science GPA is 3.0, but my last 60 semester units are 3.87 and my TEAS scores that I just took today are all over 90%.

Hope to hear about all of your experiences and pray that we all get in! :D :D :D

To those who have been accepted to Sacramento's ABSN cohort, what sort of timeline did they give you in the e-mail? Since I am waitlisted they just told me to start working on the health forms, CPR, etc. but I am curious if they told you when these had to be completed? Also, does anyone know when the tuition deposit is due? I know by that deadline us waitlisters might start getting bumped up.

They told us we have 10 days to pay the tuition deposit :) So hopefully the wait list will start moving soon!

Hi dewalker, the CPR/BLS, health forms, and verification of health insurance has to be completed 30 days before classes start on January 5th. The background check/drug test is supposed to be completed within 30 days of your admission notification.

The link in he admission email recommends a CPR/BLS course that only has sites in the Bay Area. Can any Sacramento people recommend a course in our area that meets SMU's requirements? Also, anyone know when orientatio will be?

Also, I wanted to add that I know people who have been added from the waitlist the day before orientation as well as just days before classes start. :)

Hey everyone, congratulations on those acceptance e-mails! I just received an e-mail and I am #1 on the waitlist out of 27...I have read in previous cohorts they have accepted quite a few off of the waitlist, anyone know if my chances of getting bumped up are good? I figure being in the number one slot it is highly likely...I hope!!!

I've also been put on the waitlist. I'm waitlist #5. Hopefully I get in.

Also, CONGRATS TO EVERYONE WHO GOT IN! =DD

This is the link I received in my e-mail, it takes you to a lot of available CPR classes in the Sacramento area:

Roseville CPR Courses, CPR Training, Nursing CEUs, Roseville First Aid Courses, First Aid Training, Roseville, ACLS, PALS, BLS, American Heart Assosciation, AHA ,training courses by Cascade Healthcare Services

@mp916: i just got the affirm, check that email for potential elmsn FNP decisions.

Thanks, GhostyRN! I got in to the FNP program as well!

Congratulations on the FNP program, GhostyRN and mp916! If you don't mind me asking, do you know yet if you are going with ABSN or FNP? Has any one else out there heard any news on acceptances?

I applied to the Peninsula cohort and still have yet to hear anything! Has anyone who applied to the San Mateo campus heard anything at all? I have been compulsively checking my email since the Sacramento applicants got their acceptance emails!!

I still haven't heard anything. I emailed one of the admissions counselors this morning, as I just finished pharma and patho and need to know if I should send transcripts. I got an auto-reply email saying that she is away at a recruiting event but will still try to respond to emails.

I'm right there with you! I also applied and have not yet heard. My hope is it will be early next week. I'm in Yosemite for a week after next week so I may have to have someone watch my E-mail for me. Excited to be done waiting!
