Samuel Merritt ABSN Sacramento cohort 2016

Published

Hi All!

I am applying to the Sacramento ABSN cohort for 2016 and would like to hear from others that are applying or graduates of the program! Current application stats, thoughts on the program, etc. I have my bachelors from UC Davis in Nutrition and have TONS of experience in the ER. I am currently an ER Tech at Lodi memorial and have been a scribe at UC Davis. My science GPA is 3.0, but my last 60 semester units are 3.87 and my TEAS scores that I just took today are all over 90%.

Hope to hear about all of your experiences and pray that we all get in! :D :D :D

Hello!

I am also applying to the Sacramento ABSN cohort for Spring 2016. My starts are below if anyone is interested...

-B.S. in Human Development from UC Davis

-Science GPA: 4.0 (Microbiology still in progress)

-Last 60 semester unit GPA: I haven't sat down to convert all of my quarter units to semester units, but my guess is around a 3.75

-TEAS: 87 total (98 math/88 reading, which I understand SMU is most concerned with)

-1 year volunteer experience at Kaiser

-4.5 years experience in human resources (worked in this field until 2014 when I quit my job to be a nanny and take nursing pre-reqs at my local community college)

Good luck to everyone! I hope there is a spot for all of us :)

I am almost done with my application. You're guys' stats are so good, it makes mine look soo bad XD. My stats are:

- BS in Human Development at UC DAVIS

- Science GPA is 4.0 (I repeated chem and microbio and they said that they'll take the most recent grade)

- last semester 60 units GPA: ~3.574

- TEAS: 85.3 adjusted individual (with 93.3% in math & 81.0% Reading)

- Volunteered at Kaiser, UCDMC, & at an Aftercare clinic

Been so stressed about this process XD

Are you having any difficulty getting your application ready for submission? I am in the Program Material's Document section and it's telling me that my application is not complete because I've only uploaded the Resume and one test result. I've only taken the TEAS test once so I don't know what other Test scores they require us to submit to fill in the other 4 test score spots.

YES! The only thing I need to do is upload my resume and it won't let me... I am getting repeated error messages. Has anyone else experienced this? I have emailed and left a message with Nursing CAS and have not gotten a reply. I am terrified at this point!

Is your resume in the appropriate format?

I think in order for my aplication to be "complete" I have to use up all of the 6 upload slots (1 resume and 5 test scores). I just uploaded my one test result up 5 times and it is now saying my application is complete.

I have tried uploading it in PDF, Word, and rich text formats. I successfully uploaded my TEAS score last week in PDF format. To test what was going on with the Nursing CAS system, I even tried uploading that same Teas score PDF and get the same error message! AHH!

What did the error message say?

  • Error- Required multipart-file parameter 'file' is not present

hmmmm... Have you tried uploading it through a different web browser?

Hi everyone!

I had the same problem with the documents section, and like luxi07 replied, I just updated my same TEAS report five times.

About myself:

UC Davis B.S. in Cell Biology

Last 90 quarter units GPA: 3.4

Science GPA: 3.02

TEAS: 94.7% Adjusted Individual Score (100% in Math and 95.2% in Reading)

I've been working full time as an ER Chief Scribe since graduation (past 8 months).

Submitted my application yesterday, guess we wait now! I would love to get into this program :)

Did you all apply anywhere else? I just did SMU for now.

Did everyone request their official transcripts for all the colleges to be sent to NursingCAS? Because on nursingcas it's saying that its awaiting materials, therefore I'm assuming that they didn't send my application to SM yet. I'm worried that this will preclude my application from being reviewed.
