As I was going through looking for threads of the programs I plan to apply for I didn't see one for SHSU Spring 2019 so I decided maybe I would go ahead and start one!
I am currently finishing my associates of science and associates of humanities from Palo Alto College in San Antonio where I currently live, then will hopefully have everything in line for SHSU application when it opens up.
I do still have to take my TEAS exam which I have scheduled for June 27, I am so nervous about cutting a great score to help with my chance of admission, especially since I won't have the extra point for being a SHSU student.
I'm excited to hear from others who will be the applicant pool as well and hopefully we'll be starting our nursing journey together, good luck to everybody!!!
When I submitted my application I was in the middle of Spring term at my current school so I waited until those final grades were posted before I sent my transcripts in.
I submitted everything. Now I'm waiting for 1 last transcript to be verified and then I will submit the Nursing app. I'm kinda freaking out because I can't find the record of my Hep B vaccine. My titer is good though. I just don't understand why they want both.
I don't have a PCP and my OBGYN can't do it. When I talked to a PCP, they said I would have to come in as a patient before they would give the orders and their first appointment was OCTOBER!!!! I'm starting to freak out.
Try an urgent care/convenient care place. They usually will do a full physical and order the labs for you.
How's everybody feeling as the deadline approaches us?
I am cutting it close with getting my titer results turned in because of the 30 day post final vaccine wait but hoping it all works out and I get it in by Saturday.
Anybody have an idea of when we might start hearing results of acceptance or denial? I am so nervous!
So even though I had childhood Hep B vaccines, my titer came back as non immune. When I spoke with the nursing department, they have me under the impression that I can submit my new vaccination with application and then new titer once I hit the 4 weeks, even thought that will be mid-September. Fingers crossed that this is true! Why is Sam the only school which requires vaccinations prior to acceptance???

I also applied for Lonestar as a backup option & they required the Hep B records/titer too but they just need proof of the boostee series being started after the nagarive titer with a new positive titer turned in before the program starts.
There's so many little details that have me terrified of messing up my chance of acceptance! A few more days until it's just a sit & wait game. í ½í¸¬
I'm extremely nervous as well! I just took my TEAS yesterday! I have all my documents, question for y'all.. did y'all submit 2 separate emails for the 2 PDFs required? Like 1 for the vaccines and 1 for the TEAS scores?
The Woodlands Center advisor is out on maternity leave so Mrs.Colvin is the only nursing advisor available.. I'm hoping it doesn't take to long to get responses on entrance to the program. I have a friend that applied last year and she got her response within 2 weeks of the app deadline closing.

How'd your TEAS go?
I don't know if it's correct (I sure hope it is!) but I sent 2 separate emails, one for test scores & one for immunizations, since they were listed as different steps I interpreted it as different emails. I'm hoping for the same response time your friend got, that would be great!
