That was such a good, funny (but true).article!!! I love it...Irritable?...me?...no never...(just don't ask my husband or 3 kids!!..LOL :rotfl: ). Sleep??? I have to work tonight, but I woke up with a phone call from a telemarketer!!!!!!!!!!........so now I am up for the day!!!...Oh well...such is life!...6yrs of night shift down...???? how many more????.....one day...somewhere over the rainbow...I will have a normal life...if only I could find that yellow brick road and OZ!!!..LOL LOL
Too true! I've bought many a magazine subscription and agreed to much overtime when contacted in the middle of the day. I will say though that no door to door church ladies have ever returned for a second try after being confronted by the sight of me (and possibly the language from me) when they knock on the door at 11 am.
What annoys me the most is the calls I get from work in the middle of the day. After all, telemarketers don't know you've been up all night. Our scheduler once called me at midday to remind me I had picked up a shift for the following night. I asked her if she had a brain in her head and had stopped to think if I might be sleeping.

if i were the boss of everything, which i have sometimes been accused of thinking that i am, there would be a very special award for people who work the night shift. a big government subsidized, all-expenses-paid vacation twice a year - or something equally wonderful...
