U.S.A. Florida

Hi, I was looking into moving to Tampa after I get out of school in May. I was wondering what the typical pay rate for a nurse is in Tampa. If anyone can help me out with average pay rates in hospitals as related to working somewhere like a doctors office or your personal recommendations of where to look for jobs. Thanks!!!

People from NY, especially the city, have quite a hard time in FL with the weather, the slow pace and other things, from what I've noticed the 15 years of living here.

new to this form, but your telling the truth, im from ny 25yrs here to raise my kids, im done!! whising to move to atl. very soon ,shops close to early and i don't see any thing speacial about fla.mita1

I live in tampa and interviewed at a few hospitals. As of December 2009. For a new nurse out of school. UCH offers 20/hr. TGH 21.50/hr and St. joseph's 22.35/hr. I don't know about any of the hospitals in St. Pete or Clearwater. Hope this helps some people :)

Is that enough pay for a nurse to reside in Tampa?

This is awesome information. I wonder how much this has changed since 2007, 5 years ago. I am moving to Tampa area... do you have any current info or suggestions on where to go to look for work? Any info like what you provided above is awesome. Wondering if the pay has gone up as start pay in facilities. Thanks for providing this information.

Look into small hospitals, not the typical hospitals everyone else is applying to.

Does anyone know how much new RN graduate make. I am planning to move to Tampa, Florida from Richmond, VA. Can anyone tell me how is the job market there. is it easy to find a job as a fresh graduate. Thank you for any feedback.

The job market isn't great for new grads. I think it's easier if you already work there as a tech, etc, but when searching for jobs search for terms such as nurse resident, because the job postings for new grads are usually under something different. The pay is in the low 20's per hr.

I left FL in November and after 4 yrs with the same facility my base pay went from 20$ to 20.80$ :/
