Good Morning everyone,
I am so excited that I finally got into Nursing school. I got an email this morning from SJC advising me that I got accepted to the nursing program for spring semester. I originally applied for Fall'18 because I was told by the admissions that they only accept Fall admission. But low and behold a few weeks later I got an email from them stating that a few spots opened up and if I would like my application put in for Spring '18. That was a no brainer, so I dutifully accepted and the wait almost killed me lol. Finally got an email this morning and I began screaming. Finally guys, it's been a long grueling journey that I thought would never end. I have all As and a couple of Bs in my prerequisites but my overall GPA is 2.9 which is pretty low and I had almost given up on getting into any program. I also got accepted into a weekend program in Dominican College but the transportation was a little to much to go upstate and I had a few more prerequisites that they needed me to complete. Please if anyone got accepted or is an alumni I would love to hear your thoughts on the program and any feedback is appreciated. Thank you.
Hi, @sweetkeish I wanted to ask you if Brookdale hospital is the only clinical site that the school use. I also wanted ask you can you ask them to change the clinical site based on location
Hi @louismimi, there are multiple sites that are used. I can't remember all at the top of my head. I know some are Flushing and LIJ. There's one in Manhattan and more in Brooklyn. I'm not sure about changing clinical site depending on location. I never really thought about it. Maybe you can speak to the coordinator about change of locations.
At first I got a letter in the mail which said that I was wait-listed on March 14. Then the end of June comes and I didn't get a response back so I emailed an admissions counselor saying that the decision would be made before September. Then the end of August comes and still no response until I called and emailed the Director of Transfer Admission. I found out through an email and they replied with just one sentence.
That’s weird because I’ve been in constant communication with somebody and I knew in early July it was filled up and I also noticed recently on their site that it says that too. I would see if you can try to speak to someone. They are active on Facebook so maybe the person on there can reach out to an advisor for you to get in communication with. I’d say find out why you got rejected and decided after that.

Not to be rude but how do you know when your starting, they already sent you an acceptance letter?
