Hi All,
I am very sad...I didn't get enough financial aid to go to school and I don't have enough out of pocket money to go. Ugh very upset.....needed to vent....

I was planning on going back to school as well (to get my RN). But I don't have that much support to watch my son during the day & my husband's job took a turn for the worse.
So because of that I have to put school off & I'm having trouble trying to find a job.

What about student loans?

I'm sorry, that really stinks. Did you look into loans at all? Although I understand being reluctant to take on debt when both your incomes are unstable.

I'm really sorry to hear that.
Organized Chaos, I'm sorry to hear that from you too.
Hope things somehow turn around for both of you.

I'm sorry to hear that, organized chaos! Please don't give up!! You will be able to achieve your goals if you keep them in your sight!!!! 😓😓
Have you looked into other schools? I visited 3 local schools who all told me I needed $5,000 up front. Which I didn't have. Period.
Eventually I received a grant. The stipulation was that I research other schools and compare them. So I looked at a school I hadn't visited. I got in. BUT...I found out that this particular school allowed students to make payments. Even as low as $25 per month toward the short fall!! You graduate even if you still owe. You jus have to keep paying on the debt.
Where there's a will, there's a way!!!
Best wishes to you!!!
Thank you. I'm hoping in the far, far future I will get to go back to school. But as for now, it's not possible.

Only you know your situation, but before you completely accept not being able to go to school, go see what Nurse Corps might be able to do for you. They even give a monthly living stipend. You can look to see where Critical Need areas are. I live in the Sonoma/Napa area, yet there are several Critical Need areas within minutes of where I live. If you go to a Community College, which have AMAZING programs- you can get a BOG waiver, qualify for over $5600. a year if FAFSA grants, EOPS book fees, and 85% repayment of all school loans. Plus, EOPS students also qualify for free on-site child care at many community colleges. There may be a lot more options than you know of.
