I've been stalking this website for a while and now I finally get to contribute something!...
I just submitted my application for the Saddleback nursing program cohort beginning Fall 2019!
Who else is out there impatiently waiting until May (crossing my fingers it's earlier!) to hear about acceptance into the program?
That is great news to hear about you re-taking the TEAS. I was going to but, backed out at the last minute. I'm still considering re-taking the TEAS. Who was the tutor that you used, if you don't mind me asking...
Good Luck everyone! I'm guessing it will be just as competitive this time..
Yeah, I'm a little surprised by how slow this board has been. Maybe it's an indication that there were less applicants this time? Anyone have any idea how many applied? I asked when I submitted my application and they said they'd received about 35, but that was on February 5, and the lady said they usually receive a lot toward the end of the application period.
Also, did any of you apply to any other nursing programs? If so, what's your top choice? I only applied to Saddleback, so my fingers are very much crossed!
Hi everyone! I've been stalking this board waiting for more people to post, and it has been so slow. I figured it's time to actually contribute. I'm applying with 78 points, fingers crossed that will be enough to get accepted! I also applied to Golden West and Santa Ana college. The points system works in my favor the most for Golden West since work experience is a set amount of points if you have 500+ hours and they give more points for having a 90 or above on the TEAs. I'm only in the 500-999 range for CNA work hours this application period. All that being said, Saddleback is still my first choice. When I turned in my app on Feb. 12, the lady said they had received a lot of apps but not as many as she expected. But she also said they usually get a ton the last day or two. Good luck to everyone! The wait is already kill me!!
I would love to know how many peopple applied too! Im sure it still is a lot but hopefully we all have a better chance of getting in.
I only applied to Saddleback because that's where I really want to go but I'm feeling like maybe I should apply to as many schools as possible if I don't get in.
On 2/14/2019 at 8:06 PM, SheHulk said:I just applied for the 4th time. Fingers crossed I get in with 81 points. Stacy Anderson mentioned that last semester was such a high cut off point because they had to limit available clinical spots to 50 (they accepted 60 semesters prior). She also mentioned that they will be accepting 50 again this semester so if the number of applicants and scores are similar to last semester, then I'm betting the cut off point will be around 77 again.
@daniellee423, I would seriously consider retaking the TEAS, that's an extra 5 points. I retook it working with an amazing tutor and went from an 80 to an 89. This tutor has made a career out of helping students with the TEAS and she's been doing it for over 10 years. She is seriously the best. Let me know if you need her info.
@SheHulk I am taking my teas exam at the end of summer and need all the help i can get! i was wondering if i could have her information please ?
Hey everyone! I have been checking this site for a while and like the others have said, I have not seen much activity. I have a degree in Business and finished all my prereqs last year so I applied to Concordia last year to their accelerated BSN program (I completed the long in-person interview process, but did not get in). I applied for the accelerated BSN program at Cal State University San Marcos and haven't heard back for Summer semester, but they have already sent 3 waves acceptance letters out, so I am assuming I didn't get in. I had to hurry and apply for Saddlback before the deadline. Anyone else surprised it will take so long to hear back? CSUSM sent out their first wave within 6 weeks! Has anyone heard of them completing their admissions process in less than 2.5-3 months? Those of you that applied in the past, can you give some insight into how long it took? I should have 80 points so fingers crossed I get in (been lagging long enough since completing my prereqs, should have just applied to Saddleback last year).

Hi! Yeah I'm surprised this thread hasn't been very active. I looked at last years thread and they found out mid April. Really hoping it's that soon for us too! May seems so far away. I'm applying with about 80 points as well, so fingers crossed. Good luck to us all!
Oh wow.... I applied with 76 points. I think that’s the lowest of points on this thread. When I first started my prerequisites, the counselor told me, “you’ll be good if you get at least 65 points”. Ha! It’s getting so competitive it’s unreal! Does anyone know why they are accepting only 50 instead of 60 applicants?
Don't give up hope! Not everyone that is accepted will decide to go there, so you may end up getting a call in May or put on the alternate list. From what I hear, they are accepting less applicants because they have been offered less clinical spots at hospitals due to more BSN programs at Universities taking them (unfortunately). I really hope we get in!
