Saddleback College Fall 2019

Published

I've been stalking this website for a while and now I finally get to contribute something!...

I just submitted my application for the Saddleback nursing program cohort beginning Fall 2019!

Who else is out there impatiently waiting until May (crossing my fingers it's earlier!) to hear about acceptance into the program?

Hi there !

Just came accross your post and saw the name of college and wondering if you are the talking about SBC in OC ? If so i just dropped mine today as well . Hope i hear something too around May ?

Hello!

Yes, Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, CA.

Were you able to calculate your points?

Yes !

How many points you have ?

I believe 81. I know that's pretty good, but this program is getting more and more competitive, so I'm not sure how confident I should be. What about you??

Thx for the info . Good luck to every one .

Hey there guys this is my 5th semester applying for the nursing program at saddleback college. I originally turned in my application with 63 points a couple of years ago. My friend was accepted that same application period with 65. since then I have worked with senior citizens for a home care agency and have put in about 500 hours of service while bringing up my science GPA from a 3.0 to a 3.66. Last application period I was one of the 15 alternates with 75 points, and received a notification in my email that the application was full and I was not going to get in. However, last application period during the deliberation period, someone on this blog stated that they were accepted with 74 points. now another person in this blog is saying the cut off was 77 last application period. I’m not sure if it’s only based on your points whether you’re accepted or not. I believe there are other factors involved such as the nursing committee and administration/counseling committees. Either way I’m enrolled in anatomy at another college to bring up my GPA to a 4.0 and will be able to put in my application with 80 points next time around. Wish me luck with my 75 this time around! Hopefully they remember my name and how committed I am to getting into this program. Otherwise I might need to consider obtaining a health care license of some sort or retaking my teas. Good luck fellow future nurses!!

AA degree - 2 points

N204 + 200 hours direct patient care = 5 points

Science GPA (3.66) - 25 points

Relevant Coursework - 20 points

Life Experience - 3 points

TEAS (78%) - 20 points

Total: 75 points

I just applied for the 4th time. Fingers crossed I get in with 81 points. Stacy Anderson mentioned that last semester was such a high cut off point because they had to limit available clinical spots to 50 (they accepted 60 semesters prior). She also mentioned that they will be accepting 50 again this semester so if the number of applicants and scores are similar to last semester, then I'm betting the cut off point will be around 77 again.

@daniellee423, I would seriously consider retaking the TEAS, that's an extra 5 points. I retook it working with an amazing tutor and went from an 80 to an 89. This tutor has made a career out of helping students with the TEAS and she's been doing it for over 10 years. She is seriously the best. Let me know if you need her info.
