Sacramento State Spring 2020

Published

Hello!

I know I am early starting this but I have my eye on applying for the spring 2020 semester and thought I’d start this to help each other through the application process! Please feel free to ask questions, (I know I have many!) about any part of the application process.

Hey guys,

This wait is so horrible. Im really hoping the send out the preliminary email by the end of this month. Anybody have any guesses on what they think the point cutoff will be? ?

Specializes in MICU.

Did you all see that they updated the stats to include Fall 2019? The cutoff was 67 points, again.

Really hoping it stays around the same amount of points this semester.

@ns99 same here. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it didn’t go up from 67 for Fall since historically, they get so many more applications in the fall compared to spring.

I’m applying with only 67 points myself and am not expecting anything more than maybe a waitlist spot. But maybe there’s a chance. If not, I’ll get CNA certification and try again in the fall with those extra points.

Have you received admittance from the university yet for the general undergrad acceptance?

Yes, I received it a few weeks ago and accepted it as a health science major which is what I plan to do if I can't get in this semester. I attended one of the nursing meetings in July and they talked about how admission points are much lower in the spring compared to the fall. However, they did say many people don't reject their admission seat in the spring because there isn't many nursing programs who offer spring admission.

Im really hoping they'll send out a email soon regarding when we'll be notified and what the point cutoff is currently. Hoping we all hear good news!

I also applied to the health science major as a backup, but I am a continuing sac state student so their decisions for that major do not come out for us until November 4th.

As for the actual nursing program, the timeline just mentions decisions will be e-mailed in late November. I don’t think they have an exact date though.

Health science is also my backup major so I did the supplement application for that just in case. Also, the nursing program usually sends out an email a few weeks after the application due date has ended. The email typically states when rejected/ admitted students will be notified and what the current stats are point wise. Last semester the applications were due on March 1st and the email was sent out on March 20th.

Oh, I was not aware of that! Hopefully we hear back some time next week then. ?

The top 160 won't know their standing until the end of November though, right?? The wait is honestly killing me because Sac is basically my first and only choice.

That's right! I really hope they don't delay anything because sac state is my number one choice also ?

Hi everyone! I'm new here but I figured I'd join the convo.

I applied with 67 points (3.907 unadjusted GPA, 4.0 after 1 omission, 93.3% TEAS, and 4 optional criteria points). I'm really worried that the cutoff will change, but nonetheless I'm hoping for the best for all of us! Joining this thread to stay updated on the emails and such, I'm rooting for all of you!

Did everyone get the email today? Looks like the cutoff for top 155 is at 65 and the 80th (guaranteed spot) is at 69. They said the numbers will change after they verify applications and points, so the numbers will only improve!

I am at 67, so we will see what happens. End of November is kind of late but it is what it is!
