there's still time to improve your score before you submit! I'm hopeful that sac will admit 80 applicants this semester, or at least, more than 40. that gives us more of a chance. fall semester they admit more people off the waitlist as well. in previous years where they admitted 80 people, 67 was the point cutoff. I wouldn't get too down. you still have time ?

Ah, the reason my score is so low is that I don't have any work/ volunteer experience. My GPA is a 4.0 and my TEAS score is a 92, so I don't know how much more I could improve! I guess I could retake the TEAS, but it is expensive, and I'm worried that I'm going to score lower... Thank you for the kind words though! ☺️

Have you added in all the optional criteria like the no repeats and local community colleges? That’s a great TEAS and GPA. You never know what could happen so you could still apply and see. The 67 point cut off is for the waitlist so that means below 67 didn’t make it onto the waitlist. But each round it could change so hopefully this year will be good. Good luck to you!

Hi friends!

I'm currently wondering if I should even submit my nursing application. My score only comes to a 66 which is not competitive at all and I just don't know if there's a point... It seems like everyone here has such high scores and with Sac being unsure how many applicants they'll be able to admit this year, it's not looking too bright for me. I guess it's fine because I applied to 6 other colleges, but it really sucks ?

What other colleges are you applying to?

I think it’s Unfortunate that Sac state gives a huge range for the TEAS. From all of the applications I’ve seen, it’s the only school that does this! I scored well on my TEAS (99th percentile) And yet still multiple points shy of the top score!

I'm honestly on a similar boat as you (similar points). I feel like the problem with me though is that I am not local so I definitely lost 2-4 points right off the bat.

I know! It's a total bummer but nursing is super competitive so it's expected. I applied to SFSU, SDSU, Stanislaus, SJSU, CSULB, and Sonoma as well! Every college has a different point ranking system it seems but for Stanislaus, my score is a 95, for CSULB it is a 9.8, for SDSU it is a 70, and there are some discrepancies for how SJSU calculates their scores but I'm a 7.06 there. I tried my best so the most I can do is wait, but it's hard not to be so stressed out!

WOW! 9.8 for CSULB?! That's awesome! I'm sure you'd get in!!

Yeah! I think I'm leaning towards not applying honestly. I live about an hour and a half away from Sacramento so ?

Thank you so much! CSULB is actually my top school so I am really hoping that I get in ?

If you don't mind me asking, what did you use to study for the TEAS?

Ah well honestly I only studied for about 6 days (don't recommend) but within that time I took four practice tests! I took a preliminary sort of diagnostic one from mometrix, then I reviewed every concept I got wrong and took notes, then I took another practice test from mometrix, and reviewed those. After that, I took a TEAS practice test from their website, reviewed that, and then the day before my test I took another TEAS practice test and reviewed it as well. I scored a 74% on the very first practice test I took, and then by the third, I scored a 91%. Funnily enough, my last practice test score was an 85% but I still managed to score a 92% on the actual exam! I also used the PocketPrep app as well as the TEAS Master app!

Thanks! thats super helpful and good luck with your applications

I currently have 71 points. I was hoping to have more, but after retaking my TEAS I did not have a higher score. It was the same exact test as before, but I got a lower score. So disappointing! I don't have high hopes for this semester, but if I don't get in I will reapply next semester with a (hopefully) higher TEAS score.

Did everyone check if their transcript got to CSUS safely? Is your to-do list cleared?

Yep! Mine took a while to be received so I had to call like 3 times. But finally they were accepted! I still have a few more things to do for my application, but as soon as I get my signature verifying my work experience I will be good to apply.
