So it looks as though we don't have a thread going as of yet for the Sac State Spring 2014 Nursing application period, so lets get one going.
My name is Sarah and I am a current Sac State student. This is my first semester at sac state as I just transferred over from Sierra College in Rocklin. I am currently in Micro, but all other pre and co reqs done. Looking at 87 points if I don't get the 3 additional for optional criteria that I submitted for. I just submitted my application today, so now the wait begins.
I got in! Congrats to all those that got in and keep positive alternates. Advice from current students is to get all of those modules done well before the semester begins because the work will build up and you don't want to be worrying about the modules during front loading which is crazy from what I hear!

CPR is generally due before the first day of class. You will have a website to maintain that regulates all of your requirements like: shots, insurance, CPR, etc... When you do the background stuff you will sign up for this monitoring system and it will have the actual "due date".
You must keep everything up to date. Your account is monitored very closely and they will know if anything is late immediately. Hope this helps.
Hello fellow students and aspiring nurses :) I am excited to have been accepted at CSUS Congrats to everyone else who got in and fingers crossed for those who are still awaiting for a definite admission decision !!!
I was wondering if anyone has ideas about what are the best housing options
I am not from Sacramento and thus not very familiar with the surroundings of the CSUS campus...
Is the university offering on-campus options ? Are the classes going to be in remote locations?...
Happytohelp2,
First of all, congrats! I am very happy for you. I graduated in May from the program.
As far as housing there are many options available and if you want to PM me and let me know exactly what you are looking for I can help you that way too.
CSUS is surrounded by various housing options (houses or apartments) and some are close enough to walk while others are of course farther. Other people who are coming from out of town for the nursing program are usually good roommates since you know they are at least responsible enough to earn their way into the program.
There is “campus housing” in the form of apartments down the street. I believe it is 500 per month if you are sharing with a roommate or 1000 if you want your own place. But it is close enough to walk.
Also keep in mind that the School of Nursing is not “on campus”. It is located adjacent to campus on Folsom Blvd.
Lastly, there are some classes/clinicals that are going to be farther away than others. Some are over 30 minutes from campus. It depends on which clinical they place you in and it is only durin certain semesters.
Hope this helps and good luck!!!

I got in!! To all alternates, keep trying! I was an alternate for the fall semester and I took my teas test again and increased my score by almost 10% so that really helped a lot. I can't wait to meet everyone soon!!
