So it looks as though we don't have a thread going as of yet for the Sac State Spring 2014 Nursing application period, so lets get one going.
My name is Sarah and I am a current Sac State student. This is my first semester at sac state as I just transferred over from Sierra College in Rocklin. I am currently in Micro, but all other pre and co reqs done. Looking at 87 points if I don't get the 3 additional for optional criteria that I submitted for. I just submitted my application today, so now the wait begins.
For those who are alternates...
Every semester Sac State takes alternates in the twenties and sometimes higher. Stay positive!
A friend of mine - who graduated with me - was alternate #38. That same semester someone quit the day of orientation and they called alternate #44. You never know what will happen.
Congrats to those who were accepted!

jacklyn021,
So there are 112 points possible and the 80 people with the most points get in to the program.
You can receive up to 50 points (4.0) for your Nursing GPA which is based on the prerequisites and co-requisites you have completed at the time of your application.
You can receive up to 50 points (100%) for the TEAS test. You can attempt it up to 3 times in a 5 yr period and they take your highest grade.
There are 12 points available for supplementary categories such as volunteering for 100+ hours, proficiency in another language, disadvantaged high school and low income level.
(3 for each category)
If you are not in the top 80 and you meet the requirements, then you are put on an alternate list for that semester ONLY! They usually take alternates in the 20's and sometimes up to the 30's. Good luck and let me know if you have anymore questions.
