  1. So last semester was really high at 72 pts and this semester was high as well at 69 pts. But don't let that stop you from applying. Every semester is different and you never know what will happen. Work on upping your points in what ever way you can, TEAS and extra criteria etc. Good luck, and I hope to see you in the program soon :)
  2. Congrats on Graduating vintageswagger! I look forward to meeting you! Keeping up is defiantly the game plan :) with 2 kids and a husband who works out of town during the week it's going to be essential because falling behind is a slippery slope for sure! I look forward to the challenge though!
  3. Orientation is next week. Have you started the list of modules we have quizzes on the first week or the monster list of abbreviations? So much for a winter break :) welcome to the nursing program :)
  4. I plan to buy 2 sets of scrubs based on recommendation from other nursing students I've talked to.
  5. I'm in section 5 at Sutter General.
  6. I got in! Congrats to all those that got in and keep positive alternates. Advice from current students is to get all of those modules done well before the semester begins because the work will build up and you don't want to be worrying about the modules during front loading which is crazy from what I hear!
  7. Sac state is my one and only. BSN has always been my goal and I won't relocate because one of my children is in high school so I don't want to move her. SJSU is an awesome school. Most of my family has graduated from there. I have an uncle that is a professor and an aunt that works with the alumni organization organizing all of their events. If I was willing to relocate, SJSU would be on top of my list.
  8. Still late November. The goal is to have them out before spring semester registration begins. And yes! Please post all updates! Our application period seems to be a lot more quiet than those in the past. These boards are notmally full of hopeful applicants posting, but there's only a few of us so far this time around.
  9. ------------ didn't mention the 72 at the actual meeting, but a few of us stayed and chatted with her until about 6 pm that night and that's when she told us about it being around that. It's interesting because from what I gathered from the meeting was that its up in the air for the second bachelors applicants but the website says its open to them. Did you get the same impression at the meeting that it was in limbo mgnursing? Kind of like nursing is saying go ahead and apply but the university can decide not to accept them since spring isn't open to second bachelors for the general university. Who knows. Guess we will all find out in November. Also, I'm sure they will take your volunteer work. ------------- seemed very lienient about it.
  10. At the group advising on Sept. 20th Teri said the point cutoff for fall 2013 was about 72, but that it was high because so many second Bachelors and transfer students were waiting for an open application period. She hoped it wouldn't be as high this time but said its a gamble because again it is open to everyone. Lets hope it's back down below 70!
  11. GeePee510, This is my first semester at Sac State. I transferred from Sierra College but did the first 2 years of pre and co reqs in Idaho. Spent a year at sierra waiting to get in to Sac State and getting the different gen ed needed for California.
  12. 82 should be good! I had 87 but after going to the group advising I found out I can Use my CNA license for my prior experience optional criteria points so that will put me at 90. I will turn that in Monday. Good luck to you!
  13. Sac state just released the applicant statistics for fall 2013 and it looks like the lowest TEAS was 82%. They didn't release point cut off because it was a bit altered due to being an open application, but Teri said last week at the group advising session that the cut off was around 72 points. Don't give up though. Keep trudging along!
  14. So it looks as though we don't have a thread going as of yet for the Sac State Spring 2014 Nursing application period, so lets get one going. My name is Sarah and I am a current Sac State student. This is my first semester at sac state as I just transferred over from Sierra College in Rocklin. I am currently in Micro, but all other pre and co reqs done. Looking at 87 points if I don't get the 3 additional for optional criteria that I submitted for. I just submitted my application today, so now the wait begins.
