Sacramento State (CSUS) Fall 2015 applications

Published

Hi everyone,

My name is Daniel and I just wanted to create this thread so everyone applying to Sac State can share their scores and post any questions they may have.

Ill start!

Pre +Co requisite GPA: 3.92

TEAS Score: 88.0%

Optional Criteria: 6

Overall app score: 78

I am planning to retake the TEAS exam in order to, hopefully, get a higher score!

I read on the Sac State Nursing page

" CPR certification for medical professionals is required as a prerequisite to the program and re-certification must be maintained according to the requirements of the American Heart Association or Red Cross."

Do I get the Basic Life support for HealthCare Providers CPR or do i need more advanced CPR class?

thanks for the help .

I believe we just need a class for healthcare providers. I'm looking at one of the orientation documents from 2012 and it says "you will have to take a CPR class specifically for healthcare providers"

Someone correct me if I'm wrong or this has changed!

Yes, just the BLS for healthcare providers. Nothing fancy!

Wait, we need it done by June? I thought it just needed to be done before the semester starts....

It doesn't need to be completed until a couple of weeks before school starts, but we are encouraged to do ASAP to make sure we get a seat in a class before the deadline. If you want a sneak peak at what the approximate timetable is, and all of the things that have to happen before school starts in the fall, go to this link to find the pre-entry checklist for Fall 2013. http://www.csus.edu/hhs/nrs/programs/undergraduate/traditional/Docs/2013_fall_pre-entry_checklist.pdf

I thought I had the one from Fall 2014 (my daughter's class), but I can't find it. This is close though. I know we will have some changes, but it gives you a good idea. í ½í¸Š

Does anyone know if their extra points for work experience has been verified yet through your jobs? I am assuming they are in the process of doing this now but I haven't heard anything and my office manager said she'd let me know.

Through this link Dates Dates I found the transferred student orientation is on June 17th for nursing major.I thought it would be much later, like in mid-August.

Do I have to attend the one in June for transferred students and the one in August ? thanks

there is one you go to as a transfer student who has been accepted into the nursing program, which you register for through Sac State, but there is a mandatory orientation meeting the week before school that you don't have to register for.

Tomorrow night we find out if we didn't make the cut. And correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe by May 1st we find out if we are accepted or an alternate.

Technically, tomorrow we find out if we don't make the cut "based on student-reported data" meaning we're probably not going to learn anything we didn't already know. If, for instance, we screwed up filling out the application somehow, then we still won't find that out until the May 1st deadline...

Correct me if I'm wrong anyone! :D

Well people who are ranked 170 and higher find out tomorrow.. Meaning the people that didn't make the cut. People rank 1-170 will be the people that made the cut including the alternatives.

Correct me if I am wrong.
