..yall want to hear something that might make our wait a bit more tolerable? ...I was just checking out some other threads on here, ...there is a thread by some folks waiting to get the "news" over at Austin CC.

..I didn't read all the posts, but much if it sounds VERY similiar to ours:lol2:lol

...but, their latest info is that they will get the email notifications in JUNE!:p

LOL yes we go through the same agonizing wait that you guys do! I am finishing up level 1 right now up here at ACC and I remember the weeks and weeks of waiting had me crazy! Last year they sent out letters by email on May 19th even though they had told them June. I remember reading posts on here from students who were currently in the program that once you get in and start the time flies by. I thought they were crazy. But let me tell ya, this semester has gone by SUPER QUICK!! I'm sure it will be the same for ya'll!

RADIATIONRN2BE - ..thanks for the info. & yep, totally agree...that once we actually get going in the program time WILL fly by!

Time goes by fast when busy with things..

..but as for now, many of us finished our prereqs last fall...so have some time free that normally wouldn't (if I had more $, I'd go on a vacation/cruise or something!!:uhoh3:)

..for this semester..to keep myself busy, I studied for..and just recently took the national exam for Pharm tech...now thats done...& too much time to focus on..well..this..lol

I'm not sure how your school works but our wait was made a tad easier because after we have had all our required pre-reqs (Anatomy, Physiology, Intro to Microbiology, College Algebra, and Pharmacology) we have to take a class called Nursing Skills which can last anywhere from 8 weeks to 12 weeks. It teaches the boring basics like gowning, putting on gloves, bed baths, perineal care, and so on.

Do ya'll have something like that?

...we are waiting to get into the ADN RN program here.

If you had to take pharmacology and Algebra as pre-reqs...I would've thought only for a BSN program...

..nothing I know of about a Nursing Skills class...I guess within the actual program..as is pharmacology..

..if that is ya'lls prereqs (especially algebra!)...for a 2 yr RN program? ..eek!:p ..glad I'm down here then.

LOL yup we are a 2 year ADN program also. I think we are one of the few schools who require Pharmacology as a pre-req instead of taking it during the actual program itself. Not only do we have to pass the lecture portion but we also have to score 80% or above on 3 dosage calculations or we have to retake the course no matter our grade in lecture. We have the 5 definite pre-reqs (Anatomy, Physiology, College Algebra, Intro to Micro, and Pharm) and we can take the additional co-reqs which are Intro to Psych, English Comp 1, Human Growth and Development, Intro to Speech, and then a Humanities or Language elective before we get in to the program to help improve the chances of acceptance. I've never known anyone who didn't have all of the co-reqs done and get accepted. It's all a simple grade ranking formula here.

Just curious, how many applicants to they accept every semester for the traditional RN program there? We just added a third campus for nursing so we are now up to 150 applicants accepted per semester out of 600 or so applicants.

It's always interesting to see how different programs can be when we are only 90 miles apart.

My wait is over....I GOT IN!!!!! Waiting on the rest of you to tell me something good!!!
