...you registered for an extra class to be full time status for fin aid...yes? (like many of us have) ..what class? extra class all semester long?...or flex 1, cause then you'd get the credit hrs for the semester without having to be taking during your flex2 nursing classes.

I got in morning classes (startin flex1) ...as wanted:)...so no complaints here. ...was suprised though, to get there at 7:45...and see that folks were already in there ON the computers and registering:eek:...thought they said 8? ..wow, yall got there at 6:30...lol, what time did they start lettin' folks in? Thanks for the tip on where to get some scrubs. ..that's not exactly what you were hopin' for....but just think of all the folks just starting their prereq's...that would :redbeathe to be there! ..see yall around...sportin' black n'blue scrubs:up:

...so happy to read this today; on the nursing "announcements" page:d ...hope none of you guys/gals already started buying white scrubs..lol.

thanks:) ..would you care to share any info? ..perhaps on the transition from school to employment...did most in your graduating class obtain jobs readily? or did you even keep in contact with them to know? ..the area of nursing you work in; is that the direction you were looking to go...or was it more a matter of going for where openings were available at the time? ..thanks again. ..so..did you email..or call them for clarification? ...i emailed yesterday for clarification..but not yet heard back...they must be sooo busy..lol:p

If you do not receive it by today...would suggest giving BON a call to make sure they have your correct mailing address, or whatever info they might need. ...It can take a while to get through on the phone, but they will talk to you. ...an email letter..or in the mail letter? ...I got an email "congats acceptance" today, which indicated for me to come in for registration on Tuesday July 27th, but I think that was a typo, cause my calender says July 27th is on Wed...so I sent email back asking for clarification on day. ...we are going to be in there on 1 of those two days to register, but looks like we won't find out till then...maybe they go by who had all their stuff in faster...or maybe just random?

Yes, I too got the email indicating to turn in our postcard from BON as soon as we received it. When I turned in my packet, I asked about how long we should expect to get info back from BON, ...and was told that there was a "glitch" (as someone also posted earlier) ...and that not ALL of our names/info had initially been sent to BON, ..in fact..only a small # of the 210 apps. ...so, they said that it would be taking longer than normal...for us to get this info back, ...given that info, I don't think they are gonna hold us students to some strict deadline for getting that info in on a certain time. ...so I wouldn't "hold my breath" in anticipation/waiting. Also, this time of year...the BON is obviously processing applicants from many different schools across TX...likely some back up there. The background info is important, and that is why most (if not all) schools are requiring students to submit their info prior to starting school...instead of near graduation....as used to be done. They don't want anymore students going all the way through school...then finding out there could be something in criminal background to keep them form taking exam for license. From what I've read, the cleared backgound must be available by the time a student is starting clinicals, so..we have some time here...and they know that. ...don't think there is anything for us to be overly concerned about...these mixups,glitches, disorganization, waiting...seems to be fairly normal. But still, anyone that gets their info back, please let the rest of us know, so we have some sorta idea...

..thanks for the info on this, ...it makes sense that we could turn our packet into without the post card from BON...since the wait time for that (from what I read) is somewhat unpredictable, and varies from person to person. ...it would be nice though...if we could all get the same info:idea:, instead of each getting some bits here and there and sharing between us...lol. ..anyone besides me been checking mailbox everday in anticipation of a lil' blue postcard? ..I even sift through all the junk ads making sure it hasn't slipped between something. ..anyone else wonder why that info is sent via snail mail...rather than electronically to either us or school? ....hhhmmmm:yawn:

..what about the required student health insurance? has anybody gone through the link SAC gives for that? I talked to them last week & they said to check back this week, but I figure..there is no rush to do that..since it can be done online very quickly, and since we are waiting for a blue card via snail mail anyway. ..all these little expenses to get this done are chipping away at my already small bank acount...ugh:crying2:

BioBr8kn - I see what you mean..about your friend that kept going down there..so maybe he feels that he went down there too many times before...but this is kinda different now, he's gonna need to know what to do for Fall. Did he have all the prereq's done when he applied? ..have you heard back from the school about if you are going to have to do the fingerprint process again...even though you've previously gotten the "good to go"? ..it may come down to how much time has passed since then. kbaines09 - wow that is lot more you have to go through...flying back and forth and all, that's good SAC is understanding..and working with you though:up:

..I also have heard of a couple folks that hadn't heard back either for accepted/denied...and that's not good! they need to know...have they tried to go down there in person for clarifications? ..that's good that you got that declaratory thing done with early on..and out of the way! I've read that it can be a big hastle and possibly cause later start time/semester ..for the program. ..hopefully you won't have to do it all over again, well mabye the prints...but since you have that clearance letter, you won't have to go to all that again. ..it musta been for something pretty minor, in order for you have recieved your "clearance" letter so quick!! from a declaratory order, I've heard those gone take pretty long sometimes from what I hear....& if you don't minde me asking; the "something" that you had to do the declatory order for----how long ago? ...situation? ..just wondering..musta been something pretty small. thanx

..that's a good question, I was wondering the same thing because this is the first time I've even applied for it..so its new to me. ..on Friday I went to the nursing admin office, and they said that after my initial FAFSA app was approved, I then needed to actually go through the financial aid office to submit or process or whatever they do with it to actually have that letter. ..it would appear that there is no concern of having an incomplete packet without the award letter, but rather..to make sure your $ are available on time...so as not having to come up with a big out of pocket chunk of change when tuition is due. ..maybe someone else has some clarifications that can help?

..lol..I had to do the same thing with the TB test because mine expired (they say to start with all that stuff way early...so I did:uhoh3:) ..as for the hospital orientation quiz: I think that will come at a later time...which they will announce for the link...we are still pretty far out from start of fall. ..for any still monitoring our thread, please post when you get the blue "postcard" from BON for the background check stuff...from reading other thread history, seems like the wait time for that can differ alot.
