?'s about NVCC

U.S.A. Virginia

I am moving to NO VA next month and would like to apply to the nursing program at nvcc once I complete the pre-reqs. It says its a 2 year program but long does it usual take to complete?

Also, do you have to take math, bio and chem, or can you clep out on the entrance exam? Once you add in those three extra classes along with the other pre-req's, it seems like the program is neverending...lol TIA!

Wow, I did not know that. We get to choose what facility to go to. That is not fair that they make you go so far.

With so many facilities around they should allow you to go to a clinic close to home.

What kind of uniform did you order and where did you order it from?

If you go here:

http://www.nvcc.edu/campuses-and-centers/medical/academic-divisions/nursing/index.html

and click Uniform Ordering Site and then Product Option on the far left, it will show you the uniform items for both the girls and guys. I got the scrub top and the jacket and I got the Cherokee Workwear 4020 pants in Hunter Green on another site because they look very similar and are a little cuter than the 4200s.

I just talked to my husband and it seems as though I have been mistaken. I very well may go to another clinic. I am going to look into it tomorrow, because driving to WRAMC takes an hour and a half and therefore half my day. NOT COOL!

ha ha ha :lol2:

When I had to drive to Springfield for the lecture last school year, it took me sometimes an hour and half to drive back home because of the traffic!

Our first semester, clinicals were assighned to us. Some people had an over hour commute. We couldn't choose where to go. However, we were able to trade locations with other people.

That is totally different. I would drive anywhere for school!

Please disregard the above information. I got an email today from Embroid Me. The school isn't doing the uniforms through them anymore. That is probably why is says on the Bb orientation site to buy the uniform and patches at the bookstore!

Teh good old school!! That way they can increase the prices and make more $$$$,lol I never bought any of my books from them! Bought them al off the internet like ha l f dot com or ebay!

Is it just me or is the answer to question #41 in the math packet wrong?

1/200:150::X:1

X=(0.005x1)/150

I got 0.000033333

The answer they provided was X=3/4

Be forewarned, their math skills suck as well!! lol We had ooodles of confusion with regards to what they wanted! Then I think during the 3rd semester they put this Drug dosage power point slide together. And guess what, it had a few mistakes on it! Which i find very unexceptional! I belive on the first few dosage exams we had, their were actual mistakes!

And you will find they make mistakes on every exam! Thats one thing that really rubbed me the wrong way! Sure a few times it worked in my favor, but still should not happen!

I STRONGLY recommend you review every exam you write! We could go see our grade keeper and do it, and yes, I got a few right, that were marked wrong!

Thats what i get too! lol Like i said, they make a lot of errors! Which is unacceptable in my opinion! Sure doesn't help with ones confidence! They tell you over and over again on how important it is to double check your work, one would think they would set the example and do the same!!

Very interesting, and good to know. I will stay on top of them!

You are right, it is unacceptable. Especially considering it doesn't take much to review the tests you write. After all, isn't that checking your work?

Is the test at orientation multiple choice?
