I am moving to NO VA next month and would like to apply to the nursing program at nvcc once I complete the pre-reqs. It says its a 2 year program but long does it usual take to complete?
Also, do you have to take math, bio and chem, or can you clep out on the entrance exam? Once you add in those three extra classes along with the other pre-req's, it seems like the program is neverending...lol TIA!
Here are the two books that helped me on Fluids and electrolytes test: Reviews and Rationals Fluids, Electrolytes, & Acid-base balance by Mary Ann Hogan (that book is good as a study guide when you already read your textbook during semester), and another one Fluids and Electrolytes made Incredibly Easy 4th edition (this book is useful if you have no idea what they are talking about in your textbook :) I really wished I had more time to go over them before the test. These books are not mendatory, but are so helpful. I am not sure, but I think we will still need them for our second year too. Oh, BTW you won't need to know acid-base balance info for your first year test. Also, I found all of the Reviews & Rationales books helpful so far. I hope that helps :wink2:
It was multiple guess when I did it online a few yrs back! Thats the easiest of easiest courses you wil find, lol One could complete that course in a few weeks. But make sure you understand the "pre" fix and all that of the words, comes in very handy during som eof the nursign exams. You may not understand the whole answer, b tknowin gone part of the word can be a life saver, lol. As well, you could just email the prof and they normally tell you how thwe questions are.

Thanks for the replies everyone. We are moved and all settled in. This week I will be going to get a VA License and after that I will go up to the college. Hopefully I can start on the pre-reqs in the summer!
I also plan on taking all the non-nursing classes before I apply to the nursing program. I need all the help I can get !!!
